Books and Daydreams~
I was always getting lost in my daydreams
Unfortunately for me
Sometimes another reality blurred into this one
And my pulse would quick with the thrill of it
Because I lived in a matter of minutes
And of course life isn't what we want it to be
If it was how could we ever feel pride
Do you feel pride in me?
I had hoped I could be something in your eyes
I never do anything for myself, ironically
Since no one ever did anything for me
First born but second loved
My real family laid among the black and white words hidden in a book
Or in the smiles and outstretched hands of my youth
Now it hides in my daydreams
Because no one cares for a girl whose family is books
And the memories of her past
Before the pain began.
