I felt soft grass brush against my cheek as I came to. Unable to open my eyes I layed there motionless as the light engulfed my closed off vision, and burned bright orange-red into my eyelids. Initially you would think I'd be at least semi-curious about where I am, but honestly I couldn't break my thoughts from the overbearing peacefulness I had felt at that moment. I was stuck in the purgatory between sleep and awake. I was aware yet unaware at the same time while my thoughts floated through my mind faster than I could process them. 'I wonder how long I've been here....' then I remembered that there was no 'How Long' or 'When'. There was no Future or Past. Time had ceased. Time was nonexsistent. Time... No time... I had no Time. Time was not even a word anymore... Minutes... Seconds... Hours... I opened my eyes to reveal a barricade of brown grass swaying around me. Above me the sun shone brightly through the occasional white cloud in the sea of a clear blue sky. My peacefulness was struck down by a light thump beside me.

"What the Fuck?!" I stared incredulously at the dagger that imbeaded itself merely a centimeter from my left shoulder. I scrambled to my feet to searched above the grass for the object of my could have been fatal wound. "So there's a new player huh?" I turned to look in the direction that the voice was coming from. Before me stood another boy about my age. He had platinum blonde hair and bright green eyes that shined with bloodthirst. He was quite a bit shorter than me. "I'm Corriander, Number 7." He smiled and stuck his hand his hand out for me to shake. I looked wearily at said hand. He rolled his eyes. "If I'd have wanted you dead, you'd be dead already. That dagger was a warning for what you're up against. I won't kill you unless I feel you aren't worth my time." I stepped forward, slightly confused and scared. "I'm Ben..."

Coriander smirked. "Nice to meet you Ben. You're number 11."

"Number 11 in what?"

"The race of course!" He said as if it were the most simple thing in the world.

"Race for what...??"

He blinked and scrunched his eyebrows in confusion. "The race for The Last Piece of Forever of course."

"What would that be?"

" So there are eleven racers. Each of these racers has a nightmare that we all live through. Rules are simple. Don't die. Last one standing becomes the keeper of time."

I stared at him unbeleivingly. He stared back in a slightly more hostile manner. "Hey Sissy boys! Done having your little chat?" A girl about three or four years older than myself sat ten feet from us. "Shove it Katreni! He's my recruit! I got to him first!" Coriander glared fiercely at Katreni and gritted his teeth while he talked. Katreni was very dark tan and had deep chocolate brown hair. I couldn't quite see from where I stood but she appeared to have dark, almost black, brown eyes...or maybe they were black... "Dibs don't count in a fight to the death dumbass! He'll choose whatever he wishes. But if he chooses you I guarrantee he won't make it to the next Dreamscape." She held up her katana threateningly. "What's it gonna be Benny boy." I barely knew either of them... were either of them trustworthy? But if I go off on my own I'll never know what's going on here.... what to do....
