Rose's p.o.v

With applied force, the glass door before me slid open. A ring sounded off from a small bronze bell that hung from above the entrance. With the alert that I had sounded to ensure my presents was in the coffee shop, a teen that attended the same academy as me whipped her body around to face me. I supposed she worked here since she stood behind the counter where I could order and pay. This was my first time coming to this coffee shop that was located near my favorite library.

My heals clicked forward to the counter where I got a closer look at the teen who did indeed work here. Her name tag displayed her name "Aradia". Her name did sound familiar but knowing her is not my main objective.

"A latte please", I asked. Aradia nodded than gave me a double wink and a pistol formed with her hands.

"Right away. Feel free to take a seat and relax." After her reply she made her way into another smaller room that was located behind the counter. Taking her advise, I pulled a chair out and sat on the cushioned seat. My right hand slid to my side at where my purse hung from and unzipped the black zipper. My purse was a royal purple with gold stringing through the fabric to outline a crescent moon.

After grabbing what I needed from my bag I zipped it back to prevent any theft in the area. In my hands I held a book entitled Thorns and Petals. As I was about to open up the novel I was quite fascinated in the lady behind the desk came back. She cupped my latte in her hands and set it on the clean counter.

"Ma'am your latte is ready." Aradia's voice chirped while her face looked directly at me.

"Thank you," I say as I pay and take my order. I gently sit back in my seat, feeling the warmth from where I previously sat. The liquid satisfied me the moment I felt it touch my lips. I sipped from the white polished cup then rested it on the small table I sat at. With no interruptions this time I picked my book up to read where I had marked last. My eyes skimmed the blank ink bolded words, never wanting to leave them. Except they do when the bronze bell rings. I turn my head to peak from behind my shoulder to see who just entered.

"Hello Kanaya!" The red head from behind the counter greeted. When I got a full glimpse to see what exactly Kanaya supposably looked like my eye lids lifted higher while my rare orchard irises shifted bigger. Wearing red leggings that defined the curves of her legs, black looped earrings that dangled from her ears, and a plain black top covered with a black jacket that had sleeves reach to her elbows. Her skin was tan and seemed to be smooth. What brought out her complexion in all was  her sparkling jade green eyes.

I twist my head back to my book to pay no more attention to the fair lady. As flawless as Kanaya seemed to be I didn't want to disturb her with my staring.

Kanaya p.o.v

As the bronze bell above me rang it's fine tune I was instantly greeted  by a red head behind the counter named Aradia. My black stained lips grin at her open and positive spirit. Their weren't many people in the cafe but that didn't matter. Among all of the customers, one seemed to perk my interest. A girl with blonde hair added with a black head band upon her head was looking in my direction. Except I don't think it was just in my direction but at me in all. Her face turned back to what I assume is to read her book.

Without any more delay I walk to the front counter and order my usual.

"I'll take hot tea." After I order , the red head nods and turns to grab a white polished mug. As she begins to work on my warm beverage I turn to sea the lady who was staring at me earlier. Her eyes skimmed the ink printed words upon the open pages of her book. I peak to see the title and am instantly shocked.

In her hands she held a very beloved book in my opinion. Thorns and Petals. Looking at the front cover of the book gave me chills of when I would stay up late reading just to know what would happen on the very next page.

Suddenly I notice her eyes perk up to examine me. While I was sidetracked I must have stared at her for possibly a little too long for her to notice. But now that my attention is laid upon eye contact with the blonde sitting a few feet away from me I notice her extraordinary feature. Her eyes dazzle me with their bright yet settle purple irises. The light purple reminded me the hue of purple that is seen in a sunrise or sunset.

"You wouldn't happen to be a fan of Linda Spokes now would you?" Finally she spoke, asking about if I liked the author of the very book.

"Well it so happens I am, and how about yourself?" I spoke back seeing a small grin pull across her lips. She nodded yes in response which made my day to find somebody else who loved Spokes' writing. Before any further conversation can continue, my tea is placed on the counter with a small echoing click. I pay for the hot tea and tip my friend.

Holding the mug firmly, I walk over to the table for two that the blonde currently sat at.

"Mind if I sit here?" She looks up to me as I stand at the other end of the table.

"It's fine by me",she says sliding a book mark between the pages,"also my name is Rose. I believe you are called to be Kanaya, am I mistaken?"
