A singer or a songwriter, an author or a publisher, an actor or a director. It's how you are born. You don't choose who you are; who you are chooses you. My grandmother tells me that hundreds of years ago there was a place called school where you would study multiple topics until you found a "passion". She says that once you found a passion you pursued it and took "classes" to learn more. To me that sounds idiotic. Why study like that? Like the ancients, as me and my brother call them. In our society you are born with a talent. Your talent starts to show around the time you start to walk and talk. A born author will be able to pick up a pen and write a paragraph by age 3. A born singer can belt the national anthem by age 4, and I mean belt it good.  Your talent is also how you find your soulmate, the one person who you want to be with forever. Your talent gets to pick. A singer marries a songwriter or an actor or a musician. A writer marries a writer or a publisher. That's just how it goes. My mom is a singer and my dad is a songwriter. Its actually awesome. Aside from the fact that they are the most kind and caring parents on this planet, when we were kids my dad would write a song for my brother and me and then my mom would sing it to us. They are both spectacular at what they do. I mean obviously they are good because it's their talent, but to my brother and me they are the best. When we were young there was nothing that couldn't be fixed with a song by Mom and Dad. But that was then. Now is different.
