Power Developments

~Chapter One~

Great another migraine. Rowena thought sarcastically to herself as she sprawled out in her bed. She had been getting headaches and sometimes migraines very often recently. She hasn't really paid much thought to it, just went about her day like the pain wasn't there. Of course she still felt it and every once in awhile you could see the pain shine through her eyes. She never quite understood why she hid her pain, she theorized that she felt her needs mattered less than others. So here she was suffering in silence and trying to go to sleep after a long day of listening to those idiots at school, only made less exasperating because her friends were there. As she tried to calm her mind to go to sleep she thought up a fanfiction of a TV show she watched. It took her an hour but she finally passed out.

Rowena woke up with a start sitting in a diner. What am I doing here? She thought questioningly. Oh I'm so dumb this must be a dream. Rowena looked around at the simple restaurant wondering when she was ever there. It looked like the stereotypical looking Diner from every TV show and movie that she had ever seen, so she concluded that must be where she saw it. She looked at the people this time, there were two small families and a couple sitting at the booths and three other people sitting separately at the counter. A ding coming from the front door opening distracted her and she saw a tall male with a scruffy beard and short blond hair, dressed in all black walked in with a briefcase. "Now that isn't suspicious." Rowena stated in a sarcastic tone as she followed him to the back of the diner. The man sat down and opened the briefcase revealing a bomb inside. Rowena mocked a gasp,"Oh, wow! You have a bomb in there I could never have guessed that!" She looked around the diner and before she knew it the man was walking out the door without the bomb. She looked at it as it ticked down and thanked that this was just a dream. There was suddenly a bright light and a loud boom, she blinked and was now in a library. "What now!?" She groaned and looked around the library and saw a similar looking man to the one before also with a bomb. He was gone before she knew it and the bomb blew up. Now she was in lab. "What the hell is happening? God my brain is messed up." She uttered to herself. She saw a bomb in the corner under a countertop that had some chemicals on top. Before she could fully take everything in, it too had blown up. This happened a few more times with a park, a town market, a church, and a bus until she finally woke up. She was so startled that she couldn't go back to sleep for the rest of the night. She simply laid there not able to move, and every time she closed her eyes she heard the loud boom of the bombs from her dreams.
