"Let's build a snowman!" Meagan cheered. She pulled Alec along, who was shivering from the cold, I watched from behind carrying the sled.

Alec tried to help Meagan make a snowman, key word was tried. The bottom of the snowman was way to small compared to the middle. But somehow it still stayed standing as he put rocks for the eyes and smile.

"We don't have a carrot!" Alec gasped. He eyed me as I stifled a giggle.

"I know what we can use!" Meagan exclaimed as she took off running. "I'll be right back!" She called.

Alec stood up from the deformed snowman and walked over towards me.

"She didn't have to leave you know." He said, his voice suddenly low and quite attractive. "You were hiding the carrot all along."

My breathe hitched as he reached for me back pocket, pulling out the carrot I had put there. I thanked the earth for being so cold or my face wouldn't have been so red to begin with.

"But that's ok." He smirked, taking a bite of the carrot. "I was hungry anyways."

He turned and walked away, acting like nothing had happened. I finally was able to breathe, letting out a big sigh as my breathe turned smoking in the crisp December air.

"I found it!" Meagan called as she came running around the corner of the house.

I turned to see what she was holding in her hand, and it was the biggest damn pine cone I'd ever seen.

"Oh wow." I said. "That's one big pinecone Meagan. Where'd you find that?"

"There's a big tree over there." Meagan said, pointing to the other side of the house, sure enough you could see the tip of the evergreen tree peeking above the house. "It's has these big pinecones, I brought one in for sharing once."

"That is so cool!" Alec said looking at the pine cone in awe. To be complete honest I could tell wether he was acting for Meagan or was just genuinely surprised.

Meagan put the pinecone into the dysfunctional snowman's gigantic head to finish it off. She wrote her name in the snow next to it, along with Alec and my name, although I didn't really help.

"Let's go sledding!"

I don't understand where children get their energy.

After about a couple hours of playing, Meagan was worn out. Even though she insisted she 'wasn't tired' she was basically falling asleep in Alec's arms.

We took her inside, Alec wanted to go inside too, but weren't finished.

"You remember the night we broke into Meijer right?" I asked as we took a break, eating some of my moms special cookies.

"Yeah." He grinned.

"Well, you were pretty good at sock skating, wanna try the real thing?" I asked. He nodded as I took his hand to make him followed me into the garage. I opened one of the dusty bins and pulled out two pairs of skates.

"I hope you don't mind." I said handing him a pair of black skates. "These were Kyle's."

"Of course not." He said taking them excitedly.
