Jake smiled, but this time it was nice and not scary looking. "Addie." He shook his head, looking down at his lap, tightening his arms around her.
"Yes? What is it?" She happily mused, wrapping her arms around him.
He looked back up at her, placing a quick kiss on her nose. "You're welcome."
Her eyes widened at the display of affection, but they softly turned into a big smile. "Jake..." She put a hand on his cheek, looking into his mismatching eyes with all of the affection she could possibly muster. "I...I love you. So much."
His eye's widened in surprise, not saying anything in response to her. He pulled her closer to him, hugging her tightly and burying his face into her neck. Slowly the surprised look turned into a smile as he hugged her.
She laughed out of pure glee, pressing a kiss to the top of his head. "I love you, I love you, I love you!"
Jake laughed at her, his face still buried in her neck. " I can tell." He said quietly, keeping a tight hold on Adelaide.
She giggled with him, keeping him close to her. She sighed blissfully, pressing a kiss to his temple.
He placed a couple of soft kisses to her neck in return, lifting his head up and smiling at her. He pushed her hair back to get a better look at her face, shaking his head happily. "You're adorable."
"You're a sweetheart." She replied, nuzzling her nose with his.
He laughed, resting his forehead against hers and closing his eyes. The smile wasn't leaving his face as he held her.
She laughed with him, raking her fingers through his wavy-ish hair. She closed her eyes as well, basking in the happy moment.
"It's been a long day. We should probably go to bed." He said, opening his eyes and looking happily at her.
"I don't wanna go to sleep." She replied, the smile still on her face. "I just wanna press a pause button and live in this moment. I don't need anything else."
He pulled back and kissed both of her cheeks. "That's sweet, but really. You've been through a lot today especially. You should get some rest." He softly ran a hand down her back and to her waist, leaving it there.
"Just one more thing..." She looked down and back up at him, holding his head in her hands and pressing a soft kiss to his lips.
He kissed her back instantly, bringing his other hand up to hold her neck. His mind went wild at the action, affection clouding his thoughts.
She deepened the kiss, her hands wrapping around his neck as she kissed him.
Jake pulled his head back the tiniest bit, leaving only a couple of centimeters between them. "Addie, not right now." He closed his eyes, letting out a breath he didn't realize he was holding in.
"What do you mean?" She smirked, asking him innocently. She peppered his jaw and cheek with kisses, looking up at him with bright eyes.
"It means don't do that right now." He said opening his eyes and looking down at her, his eyes clouded and dazed. "We should go to bed."
She nodded with a smirk, kissing his nose.
He gently pushed her off of his lap, rubbing his hands down his face before standing up and holding out a hand to help her up.
She took his hand and once she got up she instantly reached over and wrapped her arms around his middle, looking up at him.
A small smiled graced his lips as he looked down at her. "Come on." He walked down the hallway with her, pushing her bedroom door open.
She didn't move to let go of him in the slightest, only still hugging him close.
He bent down a bit and in one swift movement lifted her up in his arms. He walked over to her bed and dropped her down on it, leaning over her and smiling. "Goodnight."
"Jake, are you leaving me?" She pouted, reaching up and brushing his hair out of his face.
"Well, I was planning on going to bed myself. Oh and real quick." He reached above her, running his hand over the holes he made in the sheets from earlier, closing them up looking as if they weren't there in the first place. "I didn't do it before."
"Well why don't you go to bed and stay?" She suggested, running her thumb over his cheek.
"I would, but you will not sleep with me here. I know that's not what you want to do." He smirked at her, looking at her knowingly.
"I promise I'll go to sleep...just stay with me..." She pleaded, kissing his forehead. "Pretty please?"
"Fine. Just let me change first." He walked out of the room and into his own bedroom, pulling out a new shirt and pajama pants. He quickly dressed, petting the cat who was asleep on his bed then going back into Addie's room.
Addie was waiting for him on the bed, sitting on her knees with her pink nightgown on. She instantly smiled when she saw him, reaching out her arms for him.
He walked over to her, falling on his back beside her and pulling her down with him, wrapping his arms around her back. "Waiting for me I see."
"Always." She giggled, resting her head on his chest.
He placed a kiss on the top of her head and closed his eyes. "Goodnight." He held her close to him, sighing in content.
"Goodnight." She said back to him, closing her eyes and drifting off to sleep.
