Harry's runs to me as the beat starts to speed up and picks me up twirling me around.
"Harry put me down!" I squeal trying to wriggle out of his ever so tight grip.
" 'Cause I'm just a teenage dirtbag baby!," He keeps singing and I decide to join him.
"And I'm just a teenage dirtbag baby, listen to Iron Maiden baby with me," He sets me down as the beat slows again and I can't help but smile.
"Acelyn, Harry what are you doing?" I freeze at the voice. Did they see Harry spinning me around? Oh shit.
"We're just singing," Harry replies smoothly leaning on the counter. I turn around and see Ben with his arms crossed. I gulp thinking he saw us.
"Well you should be helping us pack up. We need to be done in 2 hours and we have a lot more to do," I sigh in relief he didn't see what happened seconds ago. Not that it was bad or anything, just the fact that we're most likely going to be step-siblings soon and we were to close for comfort.
"Alright. I just need to bring this to my mom and then I'll be back out," I say buttering the last bit of the toast.
"Thankyou," I hear footsteps retreating and the front door close. Arms wrap around my waist for the second time today as I set the butter knife down.
"I've got two tickets for Iron Maiden baby. Come with me Friday don't say maybe. I'm just a teenage dirtbag baby like you," Harry tries to sing the girls part and his voice cracks a couple times.
"Harry that was awful!" I laugh at him and he pouts again.
"Well at least I tried," He lets me go and the colder air sends a shiver down my spine without his warmth.
"Would you like a gold star?" I tease putting the toast on a plate and grabbing a water bottle.
"Can I have you instead," He winks. Butterflies intrude my stomach at his words and I blush.
I don't answer and walk past him with the plate, earning a not so subtle smack on my bum. I squeal and hurry out of the kitchen listening to him chuckle behind me.
"Mom. I made you some toast," I say quietly walking into her room.
"Thank you Hun. Could you just place it on the nightstand please," Her voice is very gentle and quite as she turns over to face me. I put the plate and water on her nightstand like she asked and feel her head. It's warm but not like a fever. Maybe she's getting better.
"How are you feeling?" I sit down on the end of her bed and she scoots to sit up.
"I'm feeling a little better. I feel bad for not helping."
"You don't have to feel bad mom. Ben's the one who said you should stay in bed anyways. Plus we're doing great. Just about done," I reassure grabbing her hand.
"That's awesome. I'll be happy once we're actually moved in. It will be a big weight lifted," She reaches for her toast and starts to nibble on it. "I'm not that hungry to be honest with you," She sighs.
"I know mom. But you need to eat and drink. You won't get better if you don't take care of yourself," I grab the water bottle and hand it to her. So takes many gulps and sets it back down.
"You're the best daughter ever, you know that?" She grabs my hands and kisses my cheek.
"Thanks. I try," I laugh. She laughs with me and it turns into a cough. I sit beside her and pat her back. She jolts out of bed and runs to bathroom holding her mouth and stomach.
I run after her and see her with her face basically in the toilet puking her guts out. I grab her hair and pull it up into a ponytail. She flushes the toilet when she's done and rests her arms along the seat and hangs her head trying to recover from her violent puking.
"Are you alright?" I question concerned. She just nods her head and tries to stand up. I help her and bring her back to bed. She climbs in and rolls onto her side facing away from the door like she has been all day.
"Go help them Ace. I'll be fine, if I need anything I'll call you,"
"Are you sure?"
"Yes they need help. Go help Dear." She dismisses me waving her hand.
"Alright.." I turn around and walk to the door.
"I love you Ace," She says as loudly as she can, which isn't to loud.
"I love you too mom," I close her door and walk back outside to help finish. I spot Harry standing next to the truck helping pass boxes and head towards him.
"How's your mom doing?" He asks lifting a heavy box into the truck. He wipes his forehead and grabs a water bottle taking a swig.
"She just puked again after she ate her toast," I say looking towards the upstairs windows. "I really hope she gets better soon. She's been looking forward to moving since it was announced and now she can't even help."
"I know. What a piss off." He sets his water bottle down and looks at the upstairs window aswell. "She's a tough lady though, she can get through this little flu in no time," He tries to reassure me but I dont think it something as small as the flu. She's sick for sure, but I need to know if it's something a little more serious. It might not be and I'm just over thinking this but no one will know until it's to late and I don't want that to be the case.
"Stop over-thinking it Ace," He says softly and grabs my chin. "Wanna ditch?"
"Yeah sure, I'm not feeling helping anyways," I smile at Harry. He looks around and makes sure no one is paying any attention to us. When he's sure no one is looking he grabs my hand and pulls me towards his car.
