song: light, sleeping at last

I wake, opening my eyes.
There's something different.
I inhale....
It smells like William.
I open my eyes and I notice the figure sleeping next to me, I'm tucked into his chest, him holding onto me tightly.
"William."
I hold onto his shirt, tucking my head beneath his chin.
"Noora." He speaks.
He nuzzles into my hair, breathing deeply.
"I missed you." I say softly.
He looks down at me,
moving my hair from my eyes. "I missed you too."
I kiss his collarbone, breathing in the scent of his skin deeply.
We stay that way, just looking at each other for the longest time.
"Where do we go from here?" I ask softly, moving in closer to him.
He tucks my hair behind my ear, running his hand through the strands again and again.
"I'll go wherever you are." He looks around, pulling his arm behind his head, propping himself up to look at me. I sit up, leaning on my elbow. "We can stay here. You can go back to school, if you'd like. I can afford a new place for us. Somewhere we can... Start again." He says, his eyes analyzing the small apartment bedroom.
"You don't need to do that..." I say, not wanting him to spend his money on me. "I, I can crash with Eva or..." I wave my hand absently in the air. "And you can get somewhere for you, I can spend nights there if that's what you'd like." He looks into my eyes, analyzing as always. He rubs his thumb on chin, his hand on my neck. "Do you not want to live together any longer?" I look down. "I don't know what I want." I say softly. He leans in, kissing my forehead, rubbing my hairline softly. "I want you." I say softly. I think on it for a moment, weighing my options. "I think I'll stay with Eva, for now. I'll spend nights with you, and just figure things out as we go." I offer.
He kisses me on the forehead.
"I suppose, I can live with that. For now."
He attacks me with kisses all over my cheeks and neck. I laugh wildly, gasping.
"Willhelm!" I blurt.
"Willhelm?" He questions, his eyebrow cocked, his expression playful. "You know that's not my name." I roll my eyes.
"I'll make you scream my name, I promise."

"What made him decide to come back?" Eva asked, popping a pretzel into her mouth. We lay on Eva's bed, facing each other. I run a hand through my hair. "He decided he didn't want to be without me is what he said." She shrugs. "But I think it's because after his father passed, he didn't really have a reason to stay in London." I say. She nods carefully.
"So he's just figuring out what to do from here on?" I nod, sighing. "I mean, I'm happy he wants me to be apart of his life. But he asked me to move in with him. I haven't seen him in months and he thinks we can just pick right back up where we left off." I say, and Eva turns to face me. "So why not? Clearly a lot has changed. Situation wise. Why don't you just move back in with him, and see the difference. You're always welcome to stay with me of course. So it's your decision. And if it doesn't work out, your beds still empty here." She smiles, kissing my cheek. "I've gotta go meet Isak and Even for a double date." I raise my eyebrows in surprise. "Who's the lucky man?" She laughs. "I have no idea. Some friend of Evens." I smile and she heads out.

I pick up my phone and call William. He answers after two rings.
"Could you come get me from Eva's? I need to talk to you."
When I see the Porsche pull up outside I slip into the passenger door. He greets me with a small smile and I lean over and kiss him quickly.
"You said we needed to talk?" He asks.
I look at my hands. "I think... I think I will move in with you." A large goofy smile plays on his face and he leans over and kisses me again.
"Hey you!" I scold, but I'm unable to hide my smile.
"I mean, if it doesn't work out, I've always got a room at Eva's. So don't be pulling any stunts."
He holds his arms up in defense, flicking his hair out of his eyes. He looks at me for a moment before I lean over and kiss him again.

Later that night I stand in his kitchen, frying red peppers and onions in a pan to put into omelets for dinner. I feel a pair of arms wrap around my waist, and lips on my neck. I smile. "Hey. I have a weapon here." I say vaguely gesturing to the pan. He mumbles, kissing my neck again before setting his chin in the crook of my neck. He moves his hand over mine on the spatula, mimicking my movements. I shrug him off, laughing. He kisses my neck again before sitting on the counter beside the stove.
"Do you like the place?" He asks. He bought a penthouse in a fancy apartment building, and it was all very extravagant. I look around, it was also very modern and didn't feel much like home yet. I smile. "Yes. Do you like it?" He shrugs, popping a pepper into his mouth. "It'll do." I think he feels the same way I do.
I turn off the stove, moving to stand between his legs. I set my elbows on his thighs, resting my chin in my hand to look at him.
He moves my hair behind my ear and makes a soft noise like he's just realized something. He analyzes my eyes carefully.
"What?" I ask, leaning my cheek into his palm.

"No house has ever felt like home without you in it."
