---

I sat on a chair in the waiting room. My foot tapping relentlessly against the tile floor. The walls were a dull color, the only decoration a plastic plant, and the seats? Oh, don't get me started on those.

You would think Hell would have a better waiting room.

The only sounds were my endless tapping, the secretary's impatient sighs every couple minutes, and a low moaning of tortured souls coming from the roof.

I can't wait any longer.

I got up, swept my hair out of my eyes, fixed up my suit, and walked up to the secretary.

She was a nasty looking thing, definitely not human. She gazed down at me with a sour expression, and when she opened her mouth, the most awful noise came out of it. A nails-against-chalkboard type of noise.

"What do you want?" She asked in her shrill voice. Goosbumps raced up and down my spine, and I slowly muttered,

"How much longer do I have to wait?"

The secretary cackled, and stared down at me with amusement in her eyes, "Satan is a very busy man. You'll have to wait the least 300 years," she pointed back at the chairs, "your welcome to sit and rot if you want."

You're kidding me.

"I am not waiting 300 years to get my soul back." I sassed. The secretary's expression changed from an amused one, to a a death glare in the span of a second.

"Well, your shit out of luck." She seethed.

I glared at her, and she glared back. Her features becoming distorted the longer I stared.

I smirked, "Either you let me in now, or I'll - I'll-"

Shit. What am I gonna do? The smirk slid slowly off my face as I realized I was doomed.

"I'll spam Satan's inbox with memes if you don't let me in."

She glared even more at me, "What kind of memes?"

I pulled out my phone, "Let's see."

I scrolled through the Kermit ones, hmm. . . how about the Starter Packs? Suicidal Memes? Nah, too edgy. Harambe? Yeah, no.

Oh, I know. I know.

I smiled at the secretary, and walked slowly back to my seat.

She craned her long neck to see what I was doing, but she couldn't so she gave up after a while.

I was about to press send when a door across the room flew open.

I turned and saw a man in a plain, black suit. He had slicked back, black hair, a fair complexion, and when you looked at his eyes, you could see Hell reflected in them.

I gulped.

Standing before me, was the devil himself.
