It's such a weary day for me, well, it always is. I just don't know why, but I have this feeling that I want to get out of this school as soon as possible. The torturous lectures, the mind-bending projects, and the intimidating professors are killing me. It's like they were made to make my life miserable. (You know what I mean?)

So here I am, glued to my chair, looking at nothing in particular as my mind floats everywhere, not giving a single damn about our professor who's busy discussing his lesson in front of us. I barely understand everything he said since I wasn't listening to him in the first place anyway. (Well, don't get me wrong, I'm not a bad student or anything, it's just that I'm really not in a good mood today... Yeah, I really am not.)

I was busy daydreaming when someone started hitting my knee. (Or let's just say kicking it.)

I looked at the person next to me with an intense gaze, but she just gave me a soft giggle. I glared at her again and thought how I wish my eyes were like a Cyclops's, so this person sitting next to me would turn to ash. (Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know that was harsh but I can't help it sometimes.)

"Jess, stop it, will you?" I said to Jessica, my best friend who's being absolutely annoying to the max, but she just rolled her eyes at me in response. (Seriously?)

I drifted back to my business which is procrastinating and imagining things but I suddenly jolted when Jessica kicked my knee again, and I swear it really hurt this time. I gave her a deadly glare, but she just gave me a "what? You wanna fight?" face.

"What?" I asked in an irritating tone.

"Nothing," she answered. (Oh! Weird.)

"You're not listening to the lecture," Jessica said as her brows were raised, looking at me in disbelief as to why I didn't spare any time listening to our professor's lecture. "It's so not you."

"As if you're listening either," I answered back without looking at her.

"That's all for today." Our professor's voice echoed throughout our room as I was just about to preoccupy my mind again, that meant class was over.

Everyone was rushing to exit the lecture hall. I lazily stood up and neatly packed and arranged my notebooks in my bag when Jessica hastily grabbed my pink ballpen.

"Yah! What do you think you're doing? Give it back to me!" I shouted.

"Nope! Why would I do that?" She said innocently, and all I did was growl and want to smack her head for her behaviour. (Why do I have such a troublesome best friend like her again?)

"Did you lose your pen again? And why do you have so much energy today?" Jessica was usually fast asleep during this particular session, but today she wasn't, unfortunately.

"I don't have any idea," she said and shrugged her shoulders. She busily packed her untouched notebook in her sling bag, and I quickly snatched my pink ballpen from her grip.

"Miu, are you serious?" She whined and immediately reached for my pen, but I briskly hid it behind my back.

"Oh come on, Miu. I just want to borrow your pen."

"But you never said you wanted to borrow it, you just snatched it away from me, for your information."

"Haissst. Yeah, whatever," she growled as she rolled her eyes at me, and how I wish those eyes would pop out of their sockets one day.
Jessica and I exited the room and walked quietly in the hallway. We then heard loud screams and cheering from the crowd. I knew the reason and source of that commotion, and I was right, my eyes immediately caught sight of that certain figure.
