The Republic convinced the Gungans to fight the Separatist army on Naboo.
Using a giant shield generator, the Gungan army hoped to fend off the droids... Only to find the droids could walk right through the force field! The only way to win was to blow up the reactor on the droid control ship, shutting off the droids.
Young Anakin managed to do just that, and helped the Republic win the battle on the Great Grass Plains.
