~Kazumi's POV~

Thunder boomed overhead. I flinched and hissed quietly. I pushed my soaked black hair with red tips out of my face, adjusted my glasses so my eyes couldn't be seen, and fixed my outfit: a simple shirt and pants I had stolen a while back. I heard a footsteps approaching and hissed in annoyance. 'Who would be caught out in this story, besides myself?' I was so lost in my thoughts, or rather lack thereof, I bumped into a person. I closed my eyes, feeling my glasses being knocked off my face. I started to search blindly for them when I felt them being put on my face. I stood slowly and adjusted them again. I looked straight ahead of me, but was still able to see the small blue, I think, haired boy with a raven haired butler. I frowned at them and the young boy was wet from the falling rain. He hadn't fallen, for his butler had caught him, but in doing so dropped the umbrella.

"Watch where you're going! Ungh! My clothes are ruined now!" The boy snapped. I giggled and he glared at me, "What's so humorous?"

"You think I honestly care if your clothes are ruined? And I would watch if I could."

"You mean to say you're blind?!" He asked. I nodded and sniffed the air,

"And by the smell of things, you have a demon with you...*sniff* is that you Sebastian Michaelis?" The butler tensed and I cackled.

"Oh it is! I can smell the tension! I remember you!"

"What are you?" The boy asked, narrowing his eyes at me.

"Well, I can't say....I'm older than everything though! I was around before demons and angels...and reapers." I paused and sighed annoyed. "You lots made my life hard." The boy looked at me after a while,

"What's your name?"

"Kazumi, and by the scent of things, you are Ciel Phantomhive, son of Vincent and Rachel Phantomhive, current owner of Funtom toys." I smirked at his shocked face and Sebastian looked between us.

"Do you have a place to stay perchance?" Sebastian asked me.

"I'm a wanderer, you idiot. Of course not." I snapped.  Sebastian looked at Ciel and put a hand over his chest,

"My lord, if it is acceptable with you, perhaps we could take in Kazumi, after all, she can't be much trouble....being blind and all." He smirked at me and I frowned but covered it with a giggle. Ciel looked at me oddly and I stifled another giggle.

"Why do you laugh so much?"

"Dear Phantomhive, don't you know that he who finds humor in the darkest of times is more likely to survive?"

"You can die of laughter, Kazumi." He said simply. I laughed and shrugged,

"So? Laughter is the best medicine. I find laughter everywhere, plus those who are most saddened are those who laugh the easiest."

"So that means Undertaker is extremely depressed." Sebastian said jokingly, looking at Ciel. I frowned.

"Who's Undertaker?"

"Just an acquaintance of my young lords." Sebastian replied. Ciel waved a hand at him,

"Sebastian, enough talk. Get us home." Sebastian bowed,

"Yes, my lord." I frowned as he picked Ciel up and went to pick me up, I held onto my glasses. After a few seconds, we were at the famed Phantomhive Manor. Sebastian took my arm and led me to the foyer as Ciel went up to his study, after ordering Sebastian to introduce the staff. Sebastian disappeared down a hallway and I looked around. It bothered me, knowing someone knew I could see fine and was faking it. I turned my head toward the sound of...one....two...three...four sets of footsteps. I frowned and saw three servants, and one older male. Sebastian looked at them and spoke,

"When I say your names, you will step forward and do what ever Miss Kazumi needs you to do." They all nodded.

"This is Finnian, the gardener." A small male with blond hair that was held back by a few red bobby pins stepped forward,

"I'm Finnian, but most call me Finny!" He told me. I smiled and held out my hand. He took it and I pulled him close, I traced his face, I had done this for years, memorized random faces. I could feel his blush and I smiled. He stepped back and Sebastian called,

"Baldroy." To me, "He's the cook." I did the same as I did with Finny.

"They call me Bard." I smiled, then frowned.

"You were in war..." I trailed off and felt him tense. I shook my head,

"Nevermind." Sebastian looked at me oddly and said,

"This is Mey-Rin, the maid." A girl with cherry red hair and glasses that hid her eyes stepped forward. I held out my hand and she stared at it,

"Come here, Mey-rin." I said simply. She did as I told her and I traced her face, I had done this for years, memorized random faces. I frowned,

"Why do you wear glasses if you don't need them?"

"Wha-?!" I quickly took them off her face and danced out of everyone's reach. Sebastian kept trying to get the glasses, I ducked and dodged all I could. Bard yelled out,

"She's blind ain't she?! Take 'er glasses!" I tensed and shut my eyes tight, fearing them being taken.

"No! I need them! Don't!" I, in my haste, tripped over the stairs and at the same moment felt my glasses being taken from me. I gasped and heard Sebastian say,

"Hold these, don't break them." I cried out,

"Please don't!" Sebastian took Mey-rin's glasses from me and helped me to stand.

"Here, Kazumi." Finny said, handing me my glasses. I let out a breath of relief,

"Thank you, you don't realize how hard it is to get a new pair when I break them." Sebastian turned to Mey-rin.

"Mey-rin. Take Miss Kazumi on a tour of the manor, then show her to her room." Mey-rin nodded and took my arm, leading me around the manor for an hour before we came to my room. It was simple, bed, dresser, closet, bathroom, window. Mey-rin smiled at me,

"If you need any help miss, just call." I smiled at her and nodded.

"Thank you, Mey-rin." She left quickly and I pushed my glasses down my nose so I could look over them. I quickly walked to the closet and pulled out an extra blanket and covered the mirror. I walked around the room and sighed. It was plain. I hoped I wouldn't be here long. It felt wrong being here. I hummed a soft tune as I walked around the room and cleaned my glasses. I was interrupted by a double knock at my door. I quickly pushed my glasses up, hiding my eyes again.

"Dinner, Miss Kazumi." Sebastian said as he entered. I nodded and he walked to me and took my arm, leading me to the dining hall. He sat me in a chair and I poked at the food he set in front of me. Ciel looked at me,

"How can you see the food?"

"I can't. I use sense of smell and hope I get lucky." I saw Sebastian smirk,

"The blind, since they cannot see, their other senses are heightened. So it doesn't surprise me she can eat normally." I rolled my eyes and finished the dinner Sebastian had prepared. Ciel let me leave early because he wanted to chat in private with Sebastian. I rolled my eyes as I reached my room and quietly snuck outside to the garden. I roamed around the trees and smiled at the rose bushes. I laid down in between two bushes of red roses and closed my eyes, falling asleep under the star-lit night.
