My Day

    It's finally my 15th birthday and my parents are giving me access to our family history.
    "Here's one of the few keys we have, our family history is sacred and you cannot let the knowledge from the library into the wrong hands." My dad says as he hands me a long silver key. A blue sapphire stone which almost blinds me when the sun reflects, is placed in the middle. At the touch of its cold metal against my finger tips, it feels as though a part of me has come back.
    "There is one catch to this however, you must find the door this key opens in 24 hours, with no help, if you dont find it now you never will; tomorrow, tomorrow you'll start. Go get your sleep it'll be much appreciated, may only take a few hours to stumble upon the door, but it also may take the whole period given."
    I try to wipe the smug look that arrives on my face, my mom sees it and pats me on the head.
    "Alexa you'll do just fine, we believe it, you must too." Something about the smile she gives me makes me feel so warm inside, like I could take on an Xerxes. But I guess all mothers have that special something about them.
    When my dad said to get my sleep, he meant in about 4 hours. Now I've got to go to my room and study all about mathematics, literature, chemistry, and history about our country and world history. Most of them bored me to tears, only history I could talk about for hours.
    Learning about the Xerxes exhilarates me, their motives were unique, but their reign was short lived.
The Xerxes were a strong soldier unit whom lived in-between Europe and Asia during 480 bc. Their goal was to take control over the mass of only a small state capital, it was one of strong holds of a military base in Greece......
    And so on, all about the history of the battles they faced against others, all the men which died for the city. In the end they did win and a new empire rose, and with it many fell.
