Prince of Hope needs some Hope

Chapter One

I had just finished my day at work, i'm next in line to run as CEO for one of the city's biggest investment companies, Ampora investments. My father is getting ready to retire so i of course am offered his position to he's second son. The secretary at the front desk was glaring at me seductively. "Have a good night Mr. Ampora." She said in a sweet voice while standing up gathering her belongings. She had long black hair that came down passed her breasts and bright light green eyes. She had a dark green pencil skirt that hugged her hips and thighs, with a white shirt that seemed tight around her chest. She seemed hot, but i couldn't be seen out in public with her or my reputation would drop to as high as the land dwellers. I smiled at her and she blushed a green and quickly looked away to hide her face, to me it was obvious she was overwhelmed by my good looks. I walk out to the car park to retrieve my car, it as good looking as myself of course. I was about fifteen feet away from my car when i looked about to see a woman walking through the car park. I immediately felt a tightening in my throat and my hands started going really dry. She had head phones in her ears and she was humming to whatever she was listening to. She was dressed in a blue and green skirt and a black vest top with her zodiac sign on with pink shoes. She was thin but still seemed to have some curves on her. She had long black hair and a little crown, she has always been on my mind since i was a young fish.

I never got nervous about women though so this new feeling threw me off my average a game, she glanced at me while passing and she give me a little smile as a gesture to me frozen on the spot staring at her. I did manage to smile back and got in my car and sped off quickly a little frustrated and embarrassed. I'm not used to women having that kind of affect on me, its normally the other way around.

A week later ...

My best friend and i were stopping at a local coffee shop before we headed into work. Me and my friend have been friends since we were grubs. We both have a fair amount of money and a lot in common; good looks, smarts, class and money and as you can probably tell we get along well. The young human behind the counter already had our coffees ready for us as always. We end up getting the same thing every morning and at the same time. "Good morning Mr. Ampora and Mr. Captor here are your coffees, one cup of cream and one scoop of sugar." She said with a big smile. She was a lot younger then us, still in high school i guess. I guess she seems cute, but shes trouble.
"Thank2 cr" Sollux says politely and i give her a wink. Im not as personable as sollux is despite how much we had in common. We sat down at one of the tables in the front like we do every day. "2o your comiing toniight?" Sollux asks.
"Yes of course." I say, opening up a news paper.
I was too into the paper and reading whats going on, i didn't even notice the girl that walked up to our table, ")(ey Sollux!" The girl squealed.
"Ff? Hey." Sollux said in a surprised tone and got up giving her a hug.
I looked up now to see who it was it was while taking a sip of my coffee. I choked when i seen who was standing in front of me; the girl from the car park.

They both looked at me when i choked, "sorry, my coffee is still a little hot." I lied and gave a weak smile. Sollux raised an eyebrow at me but looked back at Fefferi.
"How have you been? II haven't 2een you 2iince that party that umm.. Well yeah." Sollux says, i portended to read my paper but i listened in to what they were saying. I started to wonder how Sollux knew this woman but i didn't. We had all the same friends from what i knew. Plus shes a not a land dweller, how did i not see her around for them few years. I was a little jealous that Sollux knew her and i didn't. This made me annoyed that i'm jealous because i'm never jealous of anyone. I clear my throat and interrupt their conversation. They look at me, "i'm goin to head in." I say and got up slid my jacket on.
"Okay man ii'll catch up." Sollux said. Feferi smiled at me like she did in the car park about a week ago. I nodded and smiled back but again it was not the best smile. I was able to get a better look at her this time. She had long wet hair that was down and no make up on. She was wearing some black running shorts and a pink top. She had some trainers on and i thought she looked rather sporty. I got out the coffee shop and headed to work which was only a five minute walk down from the coffee shop. I was frustrated again not because of her just that Sollux knew her and i didn't. I knew i was going to have to talk to Sollux about her when i see him later.

I walked through the doors of the main lobby and i was immediately greeted by the secretary. "Good morning Mr. Ampora, Mr. Egbert left three messages for you asking if you will be attending the lunch meeting today and this can." She said sweetly with a smile.
"Yes, tell him i wwill be there at one o'clock and i wwill not sit around wwait if he is late." I snapped at her. The secretary nodded and hurried to her desk. "Careful wwhen you open that stupid can, its a joke can." I told her and i walked off into my office and shut the door. I knew my dad would be in a few minutes to go over the day's schedule. Isat down at his desk; his desk was an old varnished wooden. It had belonged to his dad.
I opened up my mac book and started to check my email. Just from people who wanted to schedule more pointless meetings. As expected my dad walked in, "Eridan, Jade said you seemed upset. Wwhy is that?" He asked. Jade is the secretary.
I rolled my eyes. "No, just didnt get much sleep." I said, my dad smiled with amusement.
"Wwell that comes with the job Eridan and-" i cut my dad off before he could finish.
"I know dad." I said with an annoyed tone. I'm not in the mood for this dumb talk.
My dads face dropped a little. "Yes, wwell anywways you have that meeting with Egbert and you also need to get a hold of Samm and let them know you're on board to nagotiate. Ok?" My dad demanded and i nodded.

"Yes i'll get it all done." I said to my dad and he nodded and left the office. I spent the rest of the morning in my office going over paper work and was thankful to have no disturbances during that time. It was a little after twelve o'clock and i had that lunch meeting with Mr. Egbert at one o'clock. I got up and headed to the office break room where there was coffee. When i walked into the room i saw Sollux there eating a donut.
Sollux looked up at me. "Hey ed, how come you diipped out liike that thii2 morniing?" He asked with his mouth full.
I wasnt about to admit my jealousy over some girl i don't know. "Oh i just wanted to get a head start on all i had." I lied. Sollux nodded. I wanted to know who she was and how come sollux knew her, but i didn't. "So wwho wwas the girl at the coffee shop? "I asked a cool casual voice.
So looks like confused for a second. "Oh Ff 2he ii2 ju2t a giirl that wa2 iin a few of my cla22e2 throughout my 2eniior year at uniiver2iity." He said and shrugged. "2he'2 a 2weet girl." Sollux added.
This east Eridan a little but he was still confused about how she made him feel. "Oh." is all i managed to say.
Sollux must have picked up on my curiosity. "Why ed? You fancy her?" Sollux said while wiggling his eyebrows and laughed.

I already felt defensive. "No! I don't ewen knoww her. I wwas just wwondering. I am wway out her league anywway." I said with a defensive tone.
Sollux rolled his eyes and smiled. "Alriight." He said with a sarcastic tone. "I'll see you tonight at Samm's flat tonight." Sollux added and left the break room. I nodded and poured myself some more coffee. I was still not satisfied, i wanted to know more about feferi. I couldn't help but wonder where she was right at that moment. After lunch meeting with Mr.Egbert it was already half past two in the afternoon and i already finished the paper work I had for the day so i decided i was done for the day.
