"Stand up you worthless piece of fox-dung!" Snarled a scarred gray tom as he glared at a cowering silver tabby, her yellow eyes flashed with panic.
      "Pl-please Slash I d-don't want any tr-trouble." She whimpered.
"Oh you don't Willow? Should have thought of that before taking prey before you were told to!" He hissed, then clawed her cheek with long sharp claws.
She yowled, her eyes filled with misery blood rolled down her cheek, the band of rogues had always treated their she-cats terribly. If a tom wanted to be your mate, you did as you were told. No she-cat was allowed to eat without permission, leave or explore the territory, or disobey a tom's orders. Slash had been her mate ever since she was old enough to have kits, and he hurt her when no one was around and publicly humiliated her in front of the other toms.
She tucked her feathery silver tail under her and bowed her head, "I'm truly sorry, Slash. It'll never happen again." Her own words disgusted her.
"Make sure you don't." He spat with hatred. He turned and kicked Willow's belly, which held her expecting kits.
She bit her tongue to keep from yowling in pain, and her eyes teared up as she watched Slash walk away like nothing had happened.
She crumpled against the brick wall in the cold, dark, alley. Flies buzzed around a metal garbage bin, and a dying light flickered down where she had watched Slash disappear.
"I'm so sorry kits..." She whispered, and curled her silvery tail over her soft belly protectively. "I'm going to find a way out of here."
She thought about everything until the crescent moon soared high in the blackened night sky. She stood and stretched her stiff muscles and stalked quietly back to the den she shared with the other queens. She ducked under the soggy cardboard supported by a log that was covered in fungi. A metal tunnel lead into a cold barren room except for the foliage the covered the ground.
She laid down and two she-cats picked their heads up and stared at Willow through the darkness.
"Willow where were you? We started getting worried when you weren't back by twilight. Did Slash give you any trouble?" Asked the small white and gray queen laying in front of Willow.
"Long story Wing." Willow sighed, "by the way how is Spring doing?" Willow's yellow eyes softened sympathetically.
The gray and white she-cat sighed and looked down at a tiny tortoiseshell she-kit who suckled next to a ginger tabby tom-kit, "She's getting better, but she's still a little feverish."
Don't worry Wing, it's probably just something small that'll fix it's self." A scarred calico meowed reassuringly to Wing. Her copper eyes flashing in the faint light of the barren room.
"I sure hope so, Maple." Wing curled around her two kits.
Maple shrugged slightly and laid back down in the foliage, her four kits snuggled up closer to her belly. Willow sighed and stared blankly at the bland gray walls.
She turned her head to watch Maple's kits, the tom-kits would be put into training soon where their mentors would brainwash them.
She thought about her own kits she'd be having in less than a moon, and she shuddered. If she didn't escape before that happened... Willow didn't want to think about it. She curled her feathery tail protectively over the swollen curve if her belly, and slipped into a troubled sleep.
