"Kacey get down here! We have something to tell you." My mother called from down stairs. I walked down stairs and sat on the couch were my parents were. "As you know," My dad, alpha David spoke. "I'm the current alpha of our pack. In four years that's going to change. You're the future alpha Kacey. You get to take this pack over in four years." I was to baffled to speak, finally I managed to find a few words. "What if I don't want to?" I asked. "You're our only child Kacey, you really have no choice. But as soon as you find your mate you'll be luna not alpha." My mom spoke in a loving but stern tone. "What if I never find my mate?" I asked. "You will sweetie." My mom replied. My dad lowered himself to my level. "Bright side is you don't have to do it alone. You get to choose a beta. Like I have Keith."
I woke up to my alarm going off. "Crap I'm late!" I got dressed in the first thing I saw, brushed my teeth, and grabbed my backpack and hair brush. I jumped in my car and got to class as soon as the late bell rang. I quickly brushed out my hair as the teacher came into the room. "Ms. Blake put that away this is not a salon." I quickly shoved it in my bag. "Yes ma'am." People looked at me but didn't dare laugh. You may think think if you're future alpha why go to school? Cause my dad would kill me if I didn't, that's why. The lunch bell rang and I met up with my best friend and future beta Aliyah. "So what are you going to do for your 16th birthday?" Aliyah asked nudging me, and smiled. "Sleep." I said smirking. "Hell no! My best friend is not going to sleep when she could be out getting her official license and her mate." As she said 'mate' she wiggled her eyebrows. "Oh my God Al." I threw away my barely touched food. "That's it kay I'm taking you to IHOP." I laughed "IHOP? Really?" She nodded. "Definitely." As we walked down the halls. Aliyah got grabbed by the waist. I looked behind us to see her mate Alex. Aliyah already had her mate because the earliest you can find you're mate is 16 and it just so happened she found her mate on her 16th birthday which was 8 months ago.
The rest of the school day came and went. I got in my car and drove home. Since I'm a werewolf we can't live with the humans. We have our own town next to the woods. I drove down the highway and turned on to a road that turned to dirt half way down. Once I drove a few miles I came to a town. At the beginning of town there were houses for the families in the pack and small shops, and a café. In the back was the pack house. The pack house is where most of the single pack members, who were to old to be living with their parents, lived. In the back of the pack house is a small road that leads to the woods. I parked my car at home, put my stuff away said hi and bye to my parents and walked to Aliyah's house. I walked in the house and strait up the stairs to her room. It would be weird if it wasn't Aliyah. Her parents had already said I could come in like it was my own house. I walked through the door to her room to find her at her desk jamming out to music. She had her head phones on and didn't know I had come in. I took out my phone and took a video of her dancing. She turned and saw me, I instantly put away my phone. She yanked off her head phones "delete it!" I looked around the room. "I don't know what you're talking about." I smirked. "Kacey rose Blake delete that video right now!" She lunged to get my phone. I ran out the door and down the stairs, Aliyah ran after me. Finally I stopped outside of the café. Aliyah caught up to me and wrapped her arm around my neck. "Delete it, or I'll hurt you." Her arm hung around my neck loosely so I was able to slip out of her hold pretty easy. "You wouldn't hurt me, you love me too much." She looked down at me. "Got me there now delete it." I took out my phone. "Fine." She held out her hand to make sure it was deleted. "That's a good kay." She said in one of those voices you would talk to a puppy in. "Be ready at 7:00 tomorrow." I rolled my eyes. "I told you I don't want to do anything. She started walking back to her house. "To bad. I'll drag you out of bed."
