 Soon after they found the castle of lions Lance would have panic attacks but, if he were honest he's to proud to show people so he just sticks it out alone. But one time, Keith found Lance in his room in the middle of a particularly tough panic attack. They had just gotten back from a fight and Keith in particular had almost died at it had absolutely terrified Lance. 

 Had Keith known about this? No. He wouldn't had even guessed! So, Keith helped him and now Lance never goes through them alone... And he's so happy that he's not alone
