Chapter Twenty Eight: Mind Blown

Colette's Point Of View

There were a few minutes of silence as this statement settled with everyone. I kept looking from one person to the next and stood up properly then leaning more on my right leg and folding my arms again. Lupin kept looking at me nervously and I tried not to look at him directly for the whole duration of the silence, "What?" Alex said quietly after about five minutes,

"You're mental." Ron shouted,

"Ridiculous!" Added Hermione,

"Utterly confused!" I threw in and was ignored,

"I thought Pettigrew was dead," Harry said, "He killed him!" He said and pointed an accusing finger at Black. His face merely twitched a little,

"I meant to," He spoke in a low voice, "But he escaped me. And he won't win this time." Sirius said and then leapt for Ron. Hermione and Alex jumped backwards and Harry leapt out of his way,

"No Sirius!" Lupin shouted and grabbed Black, dragging him away from Ron. "We need to wait! They need to understand!"

"They can wait!" Sirius snapped, trying to shake Lupin off but Lupin kept his grip on him,

"They have a right! Ron's kept him as pet for all this time! And Harry! What about Harry, Sirius! He needs to know!" Lupin barked at Sirius,

"Like your daughter needed to know! But you wait until now to tell her!" Black roared back and Lupin lost his strength. Black stopped moving as realisation sunk in of the effect of his words and his expression changed. Lupin dropped Sirius and he landed on the floor with a bump. Lupin's arms were hanging limply at his sides and tears were brimming,

"Merlin, I made him cry again." I said and put one hand over my face. Black looked between me, Lupin and Harry and then landed on Lupin,

"Remus I'm so so sorry. I'm not good with this and you know that."

"I know," Lupin mumbled and looked up, wiping his eyes again, "It's overwhelming for me too."

"Should I be more upset?" I asked and they both looked at me, "Thing is, I'm kinda of full of complete joy now. I just wondered if I should be more distraught." I questioned and Lupin's face lit up,

"You're not mad?" He asked hopefully,

"You basically had a fling with my mother and gave me to Dumbledore. Course I'm mad." I snorted, rolling my eyes whilst Lupin looked down again, "But doesn't mean I'm not happy you've finally told me." I cracked a smile as Lupin looked at me relieved. He opened his arms again and I looked to Alex. She crinkled her nose in thought which I imagine she was faking before nodding and pretending to write it down. I laughed and walked forward. I hugged him and Lupin squeezed me tightly. I sighed and smiled as I looked up to Lupin. He smiled and let out another tear,

"You cry a lot don't you?" I asked him and with a light laugh he answered,

"That I do." He wiped his eye and let me go. I turned around and looked at the group before us, staring at us with intent smiles on their faces. I rolled my eyes,

"Ok. More into our story when we get to the castle, let's work on the first matter at hand." I said and sat next to Alex. She nudged me and smiled. I returned the smile as I sat down,
