Life could be a dream...
And for (Y/N) (L/N) it was.
After she left Hogwarts she found her best friend Newt and traveled with him collecting and discovering wondrous new and existing creatures. The pair had the world at their feet with Newt being very skilled with the fantastic beasts and (Y/N) being very skilled with patching Newt up along with caring for the beasts. The two worked together like a well oiled machine, there was nothing the two didn't know about each other....technically.
Then New York happened.
(Y/N) and Newt met the sisters and Jacob, they saved the day but the pair had started to drift apart. (Y/N) noticed the way Newt looked at Tina the way she looked back, the way up until this point she didn't realise she yearned to be looked at by someone special...that being Newt (but she wasn't ready to admit that quite yet). Queenie being the mindreader she is knew this and she knew why Newt went for her sister and not the (H/C) haired Ravenclaw that had traveled with him for many years now.
Newt was trying to move on.
Newt had liked the Ravenclaw for a long time but never acted on it, always putting his 'babys' first. They were his number 1 priority above all else, his happiness could wait and when he met Tina he found something that wasn't going to disturb his beasts if the relationship went south. He found the best option for his beasts. Newt thought that if he kept going for the girl of his dreams (Y/N) they might fight at some point, even break up once she finds the man of her dreams and stops giving him a break. This would cause no amount of disrupt for his wonderful creatures. This fact alone infuriated Queenie, she knew that Newt did care for her sister just not how her sister would want, she knew about everyone's feelings and she decided to take action.
Newt loved to hear (Y/N) sing. And that's what Queenie done she made the poor girl sing.
It was late and they went out to celibate the release of Frank, there was alcohol and a microphone. (Y/N) was pushed up on stage and told to sing from her heart as a joke. To everyone's surprise (especially Newt's) the shy girl did.
She sung to Newt and Newt's heart sung out to her. The duet was left unspoken but everyone could hear it.
After her performance (Y/N) and the rest apperated home and all but 2 went to bed. Newt had to do it now before he lost all confidence the giggle water gave him. The light was right as (Y/N) hummed the tune that had captured the freckled man's heart. They turned to each other and in that moment life was a dream as their lips connected for the first time of meany to come.
