Yoongi wasn't exactly lonely, he was just comfortably isolated. He loved writing and was one-hundred percent dedicated to it; too stubborn to commit to anything else until he was a world-famous author. His days consisted of hiding in his large apartment, glasses perched on his nose, fingers tapping away over the computer keys or dragging a pencil across loose-leaf notebook sheets. He was passionate about what he did, and he refused to give it up.
However, Yoongi's friends saw his dedication as him being severely introverted and in dire need of social interaction before he lost himself entirely in his worlds created with words. He disagreed, but they were stubborn and refused to leave him alone until he agreed to go out with them at least once every two weeks for a night out to relax. It was a struggle to get him to go, but they normally succeeded. Of course there were nights when he kicked in his heels and stubbornly refused to go, saying that he was working on an idea and would lose it if bothered, but they still drug him out, if only to poke fun at him while he grumbled and cursed them for the entire evening.
This evening was not one of those, however. Yoongi had gotten a call from Seokjin about three days before their normal day and the elder had requested that Yoongi come meet him for dinner, but without their normal company because Seokjin wanted to introduce someone to him. Of course the younger male was curious, so he agreed without hesitation and now he was shivering outside of a small, innocent-looking restaurant and wondering about whether or not he wanted to go inside.
The cold was what eventually drove him to push the doors open and walk inside. He was very surprised when he looked around and he was sure that he must have gotten the wrong place, surely Seokjin wouldn't have asked Yoongi to meet him in a kitty-house? Sure enough though, his eyes scanned the people scattered around the room and he found the familiar face of his hyung smiling at him. Seokjin was clearly amused, and Yoongi was not. He felt incredibly uncomfortable and tense.
"Oh hey, sweetie, you new here?" Yoongi looked away from Seokjin and met the smiling eyes of a handsome boy with silvery hair, perfect makeup, and a septum piercing... And two sleek ears sprouting from his casually messy hair.
Hybrids weren't something abnormal for the world. They were unusual to Yoongi though, and his discomfort must have been obvious in his stunned silence because the hybrid looked compassionate towards him. "Are you here to meet somebody?"
Yoongi nodded dumbly, stiffly pointing in Seokjin's general direction.
"Well, my name is Mark and I run this place, if you need anything you just let me or one of my staff know and we'll get you taken care of." The kind words were accompanied with a gentle smile and Yoongi found himself able to return it, something about the hy- Mark, something about Mark's personality putting him at ease.
"Thank you." He managed, getting a bolder smile and a wink for his words from the kind person.
He made it to Seokjin's table without any more encounters, though he did nearly knock over a little hybrid with black hair and a purple bit right near the center. He had apologized quickly and drug himself over to Seokjin as quickly as possible only to find the brunette nearly in tears from laughing.
Yoongi wanted to yell at him. He really did. He wanted to demand an explanation and maybe even smack his hyung, but he didn't do any of those things, because he suddenly noticed the other two people sitting at the table; the two that he hadn't been able to see because of the position of the booth from the door. The two that were now staring up at him, one set of eyes wide with curiosity, one guarded, soft pink hair and black as a midnight sky, two sets of ears, one white and the other black. All Yoongi could think was that Seokjin had some serious explaining to do.
"Yoongi, sit down and I'll introduce you," Seokjin said, sliding over and making room for Yoongi to sit. He wasn't happy with this, his expression said so, but Seokjin seemed to ignore it.
