Things have been the same here, nothing has really changed. His mother texts me every once in a while when she’s lonely. We have girls days every other Friday, It’s been five weeks. His mom and I were hanging out when she got a package it was from the camp. When we opened it smelled like him, all of Luke’s clothes and phone was in the box it also included a letter, it read “Luke Hale brought unwanted materials to camp they are enclosed.” I guess he didn’t read what he signed up for or skipped that part. His mom just threw the box on his bed. Schools been quiet, him being gone had given me the chance to catch up on something’s in school and in my friend’s lives. Luke graduated early so he could enlist. Lindsey’s been hanging out with her ex and it’s been weird because we used to be friends but when he let it kind of stopped, I’m suspicious about her intentions but I’ve got no right to act on it.

Luke’s mom said he’d be back sometime this week, it’s Friday she said that Monday so I’ve given up all hope in seeing him this week he’s probably hanging out with Lindsey anyways.  In school seniors get privileges and they can go to first lunch every Friday. I was sitting at my lunch table with Taylor and Michael, the conversation began with our history teacher being a dick and ended with finals and how hard they were going to be. I was listening to Michael talk about different classes eating my fries. “Mrs. Jasper's should be easy but I mean I could be,” his voice slowed and got quieter, “hey? What’s up?” I asked confused then he smiled and two strong arms wrapped around my chest.

I knew immediately “ya miss me?” I jumped off of the bench and screamed, I hugged Luke so tight. “Your mom said you’d be home Monday or Tuesday!” I yelled in his chest crying tears of joy. “I’m sorry I was busy and things got mixed up, did you like my surprise?” all I had to do was look up at him and he knew the answer. I hugged him again “Greatest surprise ever.” I mumbled into his chest.

He pulled away a little bit to talk to me “I talk to the front office and you know how much Mrs. Lauren loves me she said if it was okay with your mom I could talk you out of school for the day.” He spoke with the biggest smile. I pulled away from him and fumbled for my backpack trying to find my phone I was shaking so badly. Just my luck it falls and cracks but that didn’t matter all I had to do was call my mom’s office. I dialed the number in the rough screen. It only rang twice.

“Parker and Parker how my I help you?” the lady on the other end said.  My parents own a law firm. “Hello Mrs. Parker it’s my parents own a law firm. “Hello Mrs. Parker it’s your daughter Jillian,” “hello dear, aren’t you supposed to be in school?” she asked in a stern voice. “that’s what I wanted to talk to you about, Luke just got back in town and he’s able to take me out of school for the day but only if it’s okay with you.” I begged. “We parkers are ladies and ladies don’t skip school for friend affairs, plus its exam week next week so no.” she almost yelled and then hung up without a goodbye.

My mom’s proper she won’t all me Jilly, she hates when I call her mom and everything had to be clean and perfect. I shoved the cracked phone in my pocket and turned back to my friends with a smile. “I can go!” I said before my brain could stop me. This should be interesting.
