You gave your mum a final hug, and pulled back. The smell of her favourite lavender perfume fills your nose, and your eyes turn foggy with tears.

"Don't cry (Y/N) it's only for a year! You'll be back soon honey!" Your mom says comfortingly, stroking your arm. You look at her once again, she smiles, and her eyes sparkle under the airport lights.

"I'm really going to miss you mum! Please be careful at home. Just because I'm leaving doesn't mean you can start drinking again. Okay?" You say warning your mum.

When you were 12 your dad left you and your mum alone in London. You lived off very little money and your house wasn't in the best neighbourhood. You are taking a year off your job in London to work in South Korea. You decided it would help  with your fashion career, since the fashion in Seoul was very appealing to you, and there were loads of opportunities for you to take.

"Flight 104 departing to Seoul, South Korea, your gate number has been released, please proceed to your gates in the next 30 minutes."  You see your gate number is 30 and you don't have enough time to stay longer with your mum.

"Good luck sweetie! Come back with lots of experience and brilliant ideas. I know you'll do great wherever you are." Your mum pulls you into one last tight hug. You wrap your hands around her and wipe away your tears.

"Alright mum. I'm ready!" You take a deep breath and stare at the end of the airport, "I guess I'll see you in a year. Stay safe mum! I'll be back soon." You wave at your mum, and turn around so she is left waving at your small back. You hold back your tears and walk faster towards your gate.

You think to yourself, 'this is it. This is the only chance I have to prove I can work in the fashion industry.'

As you buckle your seatbelt in the airplane, you look around to see families sitting next to one another, kids smiling and laughing. This warms your heart and makes you smile. You sit back in your seat, pull down your eye mask, and quietly fall asleep.

When you wake up, the plane is about to land. The pressure of the air makes your ears hurt, so you pull out your pack of gum and stuff a hand full into your mouth. Chewing fast. As the plane lands, you are the first one up and out of your seat. You grab your luggage, and race to the front of the plane. The air hostess smiles at you, flashing her white teeth. You smile back, tying your hair back.

When the doors open, you rush down the stair, breathing in the air around you. You reach into your pocket to pull out your face mask and slip it on. It's a simple black mask with white detail.
You see a group of fans screaming inside the airport and you sigh as you walk past the famous group of seven boys you haven't heard of or seen before.

"I should've done some research on these famous people if I wanted to live in Seoul." You say to yourself. Your taxi pulls up next to you, and you help load the luggage into the boot. As you step into the car, you sigh and fall asleep once again.

Your woken up by the sound of your taxi driver unloaded the boot. You rub your eyes and step out the car.

"Here is luggage, you walk down this street and you see your home." The driver says. You see he struggles with English so you smile, giggling a little and thank him in Korean. He smiles back, and drives off.

You walk down the beautiful street, surrounded by tall trees bearing pink flowers. As they fall down onto the foot path, you smile, whipping out your phone to quickly snap some pictures. Satisfied with your photography skills, you continue to walk towards your home.

Before you had come to Seoul, one of your good friends dad had found you a very lavish and very expensive home. He had said you could live in the house as long as you payed $500 every month. To top that off, he had offered you a job at his fashion company, which happened to be very famous. Your friend had told you how you were lucky to be living on such a famous street, but you weren't sure why she was jealous, or why the street was famous.

As you reach your house, your jaw drops open. A tall, huge house, covered in brown wooden detail and white walls stood in front of you. You read the small paper with your address and door number again, just to make sure this was your home. You unlock the door and push it open to reveal a spacious living room.

The walls are huge and painted a pale white. The floor is wooden and there is brown furniture, complimenting the warm season. The stairs curve up to an even larger room. With the same environment as downstairs. You run downstairs to the kitchen and shriek as you see food placed on the table. A small note is placed beside your seat. It reads:

Hey (Y/N) welcome to Seoul! I'm sorry I couldn't be here to show you around, my dad needed me to run some errands back in England, but I hope you like it here. Isn't the house great? Once again you're so lucky to be living here, I wish I was you. Anyways, call me if there is any trouble. I'm only a flight away!
Love your good friend~ Soo Hye

You sigh as you look around your huge house.

"It's going to be a lonely year." You whisper to yourself as you take a spoonful of rice.
