"Julian shops here. I really don't know what she likes about this store. Some of their clothes are teenage-like, with them stupid ass sayings on the back." I scoffed, earning a laugh out of Nalani.
"That's kind of true." She agreed.
"I know. But some of the clothes are nice. Let's walk around and whatever you think is nice, take it and try it on."
"Okay." Nalani began walking around the store, searching for clothes that caught her interest. I followed behind her, watching her take items one by one.
Before I was about to say something, my phone started vibrating in my pocket. I dug in my pocket and took it out and looked at the caller I.D. It was Jarvis.
"Yo." I answered.
"Hey man. Just wanted to thank you about last night." He said with a little chuckle.
I joked, "Yeah, remind me to never go out with you again."
"Shut the hell up O. But what's up with that prostitute you picked up yesterday? Did Julian freak out?" Jarvis questioned, referring to Nalani.
"Uh," I glanced at Nalani, who was just a couple feet away from me, checking out a dress. I walked away so I could explain everything to Jarvis, "First off, of course Julian freaked out. Second, I found out that, that prostitute is actually my old best friend from when I was in a group home."
I heard Jarvis gasp, "Oh you're talking about that girl...Nadia? Naldi? Natalia?" He struggled to remember her name.
"Nalani, is her name." I corrected with a sigh.
"Oh yeah! Her!" He kissed his teeth, "So, what's going on now?"
"Well, she's staying at the house until she's back on her feet." I explained.
"Uh oh. That didn't sit with Julian too well huh?" He assumed, but was correct.
"It didn't at first, but I told her it's no big deal. She has nothing to worry about. Nalani is just an old friend I'm helping out."
"Yeah...okay." Jarvis said. I scrunched my eyebrows together.
"Why'd you say that?"
Jarvis chuckled, "Nothing. Aye I gotta go, I'll talk to you later, aight?" Before I could say anything, the call ended.
"Okay...?" I said slowly. I placed my phone back in my pocket and walked back over to Nalani. She had some shirts, dresses, and jeans folded over her arms.
"Can I go try these on?" She asked. I nodded and walked in front of her, guiding her to the fitting room.
The worker smiled at Nalani and took her to one of the rooms. I just stood there and waited until she came out.

I waited for a good five minutes before Nalani came out in a dress. The dress was a nude colored, long sleeved with lace at the top.
"Um, how does this look?" She looked at me nervously and messed with her fingers.
I looked at her with a smile, "It looks great on you Nani. I like it."
"Really?" She looked down at the dress and cracked a smile. I nodded my head and gave her a thumbs up.
"Thanks. I'm going to go try on the rest of the clothes." She turned around and walked away. I watched her until she was out of my sight and sighed.

Hours later, Odell and I were finally finished shopping. On an estimated total, Odell probably spent five hundred dollars. He told me he was surprised because Julian usually spent over a thousand dollars.
Now we were on our way back to the house. It was around six and I was already tired. While Odell drove back, I laid back in the seat and closed my eyes.

"I can't believe Odell would take in some prostitute like that!" I scoffed to my best friend Kallie.
I decided to invite her after my photoshoot and tell her everything that happened in the house in the course of twenty four hours.
"Is she random?" Kallie asked, digging in the fruit bowl and taking a strawberry.
"No. Apparently that just happened to be his old friend from when he was in a group home." I rolled my eyes.
"Oh. Well how long is she staying?"
"Odell says until she gets back on her feet. But that's all about to change. I will do any and everything to get run her out of here. She's not welcomed." I smiled and picked up my glass of sparkling wine.
