To whom should I write this to?

(Urdu)

Main yeh kis key naam likhoon Jo alam guzar rahay hainMeray shehar jal rahay hain, Meray log mar rahay hain

Koi ghuncha ho kay gul ho, Koi shaakh ho shajar ho
Woh hawa-e-gulistan hain kay sabhi bikhar rahay hain

Kabhi rehmatain thein nazil is hi khitta-e-zameen par
Wohi khitta-e-zameen hai kay aazaab uttar rahay hain

Wohi taroun ke jhurmat jo hawa main jhooltay thay
Woh fiza ko tak rahay hain tu aah bhar rahay hain

Koi aur to nahin hai pas-e-khanjar aazmai
Ham hi qatal ho rahay hain Ham hi qatal ker rahay hain

(English)

To whom should I write this to, About the times that pass?

My cities are burning, My people are dying.

May it be a bud or a flower, May if be a Stick or a stone,

In what used to be the smell of a garden are all falling apart.

There used to be endless miracles in this tract of land,

Now on this same land are Endless disasters.

The Clusters of stars that used to swing in the air,

Now gaze down upon the breeze and sign in   distress.

There is no other who stabs us in the back,

We are getting killed and We are the ones Killing.

Additional information

This Poem was written in the old Bara-e-shagheer (Subcontinent) during the times that the locals were fighting with the English and quite literally the streets used to be soaked in blood.

The fight with English is not what the Poet is referring to, The fight was also continued at the time amongst all religions, races and colours.

That is what the poet means when he says

''We are the ones killing and the ones being killed.''
