gazing on the night sky
she sat on the rooftop
she looked to her right,
that was where he used to sit.
her head rested on his shoulder,
him telling her tales about the stars.
how undimmed, shiny and luminous they were
but she recalls him saying
that although stars glow brightly
some, however, lose their light.
she asked him,
"if ever someone lights them up,
will they go back to life?"
he looked at her
with those eyes that resembled stars
and smiled.
"when a light uses up its life source,
it can't be lit again."
