“Oh thank God somebody found me!” She cried as she threw herself at the girl. Tears started to fall from her emerald eyes to soak her hair as she clung to the girl for dear life. Larka's first response was to push this girl away and leave her to die right then and there. But she didn't. Larka gently hugged the girl then hauled her to her feet.
“Can you walk?” Larka asked, remembering the hit in the head and sprained ankle.
“I think so.” She told the girl as she hauled Sita to her feet. Slowly they began to walk through the forest, most of Sita's weight supported by the girl. After about 10 minutes of walking Sita asked
“What’s your name?” Larka looked away for a moment then responded.
“L...Larka Arctic.” She stopped walking. “ My house is over here.” She turned and continued to walk for a few seconds until she saw a house. The weight of the girl was light so she didn't mind supporting her. Larked kicked the door open and walked inside. After arriving at the house Sita look to Larka.
“Thank you for helping me Larka. My name is Sita, how did you find me out there?” She questioned after sitting down on a comfortable chair in the house .Larka didn't expect that question. She thought quickly for an excuse.
“I heard you yelling." She replied after a pause. Sita saw Larka's slight hesitation before answering her question but she didn't comment on it. Instead she just nodded her head in acceptance push the nagging feeling she had to the back of her mind.
"Would you be able to get me some ice please?" Sita asked. “My ankle is really starting to hurt.” and it was with the adrenalin from the chase earlier wearing off.
“Sure.” Larka left the room and a few minutes later, she was back with some ice wrapped in a cloth. “So why are you in this forest? You're lucky you are alive, you know.” Larka asked Sita as she sat down on a chair next to Sita. Larka laid her wolf ears back against her head, trying to hide them as best as she could so that she doesn’t frighten Sita.
"Back in my old town I spent most of my time in the forest and since I just moved here with my aunt I decided to check out the forest here. And I guess your right about me being alive. Who knows what that wolf could of done to me.” Sita said to Larka.” Why were you in the forest?”
“I live in the forest. That town you moved to was once my home. Not anymore though.” Larka sighed quietly as she told Sita and her eyes spoke of sad memories. Larka looked over at Sita expecting a confused look on the girls face.”
I'm sorry that I asked. I know what it is like to by cast out of a place that was once your home. That is why I moved here. I couldn't stand it there anymore, the feeling of hatred coming from everyone and knowing that you don't belong.” Sita said with an equally sad look on her face and in her eyes as old memories and images that only she could see flashed through her mind. Larka looked back at Sita with amazement. This girl was the same as her.
” I was chased out because..... well I uh.. I can't really explain..without doing something.” She blinked and shook her head. Sita would only get scared and probably have another spazz attack.Sita sat there wondering what to say after getting that mixed response from Larka. Finally she decided.
