Says the dictionary, There was this man who’s browsing the pages of a dictionary in the late night. He knows what ‘Insanity’ means but he couldn’t help but to take a look at the word that he knew describing himself and his partner.

He closed the dictionary and the book he was reading. He laid his body on the mattress and stared at the broad ceiling of his room. Plain and white he describes. But his stare at the ceiling is all meaningless thus, he decided to diminish the light and replace it with darkness. With that, he can now be dead to the world.

The room was filled with radiance and the clamour of the clock. The he who slept last night awakened by the noise. As he lifts his body to sit, it’s like the radiance in the room says good morning. But it would be still ‘good’ until the evening? He hopes so.

He bathes before he prepared a breakfast for his partner. Up in the attic lies a grotesquely strange lady. She was once a very sweet and beautiful lady that every guys love for including him. The lady became the man’s lover. She remained a good lady until the most tragic incident happened on her life. Her family died out of fire. She kept on blaming herself just because she’s not on their house that time and why does she’s the only one left. Terror, hatred and agony filled the lady until she frantically lost her mind. The man, who loves her the most continued to keep her on his house. Foolish is what you think of him but when it comes to love, every foolishness they think means right for him. Insane says the dictionary is what people like him, drowning into foolishness.

After he prepared breakfast for her partner. He boiled water for his daily coffee.  While waiting he began to walk towards the stairs. He opened the attic’s door, revealing a very dusty room and the mad lady in the very corner of the room. Her messy hair, dull eyes and gritted teeth surely made her look mad. He turned the radio on to clear up the forbidding aura in the room.

Coincidence, he thinks.

The radio played a song that portrays his love for the frantic lady.

“Cause you are the piece of me

I wish I didn't need

Chasing relentlessly

Still fight and I don't know why…”

The man sits opposite on the lady. He placed the tray on the floor and began to talk to her. Everytime he talks to her, there’s nothing the mad lady replies other than ‘I killed them’ while staring at the food. Bread and jam for breakfast are not that bad.

“If our love is tragedy, why are you my remedy?”

If our love's insanity, why are you my clarity?”

The man sliced bread and spread a jam. The lady looks onto what he was doing. Still, murmuring the words ‘I killed them’ this annoys the man thus, he embraced the lady and Murmurs the words that he hopes can reach her. The background chants from the music added a much distorted aura in the room.

“I killed them.”

“You didn’t kill them.” Says the man.

“…If our love is tragedy, why are you my remedy?

If our love's insanity, why are you my clarity?...”

“Please… I am hoping that you may hear. I love you and it’s still not over. I am here in your si—”

..

The man felt repeatedly violent stabs on his back. He heard some giggles coming from the lady.

Not just a giggle, it’s a mad laugh, a violent, terrifying and a reckless laugh. The laugh volume up until it completely filled the attic. The bread knife the lady is holding is coated with blood.

The hopeless man couldn’t manage to fight for his life since the lady stabs him continuously.

“Walk on through a red parade

And refuse to make amends

It cuts deep through our ground

And makes us forget all common sense…”

The lifeless body of the man bathes on the blood spread on the floor. She madly walks on through the red parade still, laughing.

“SEE? I KILLED THEM HAHAHAAHAHAHAHA!”

She went down the floors. Accidentally, she bumped into one of furniture. The vase shattered on the floor. The lady seemed to like the cracking sound thus; she began to throw objects on the floor.

“HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!”

The sound of a pot of boiling water attracts the lady to go to the kitchen. She was attracted to the orange - red colour of fire in the stove. Her eyes caught the box of matches. She picks it up and lightens one.

She stares at the small amount of fire. Smiling madly, she laughs again and throws the match somewhere. She scrapes matches and threw it all over the house until, some match landed onto the curtain. It made a huge amount of fire and it all spread throughout the house.

She uncontrollably laughs.

“HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I KILLED THEM! HAHAHA....Huhuhuhuhu”

She sat on the floor. Crying and looked terrified.

“I killed them. No! I didn’t! *sobs* Mother, father It’s not my fault right? Believe m— Aaaah!”

A fiery piece of wood hit her causing her torso to collapse on the floor.

As the clarity of her eyes begins to fog...

As her world becomes blank...

She let down one last tear.

A tear of regret.
