The lights were shining on the big skating rink where the Grand Prix will be held. The cheers coming from the crowd made some of the contestants anxious, except for one boy who was the definition of perfection.
Calling for him on the ice, he wore his blades and skated on the ice. Today he was performing "Stay Close To Me" using his new routine. As the music played, he did his first move- a simple move- the toe loop. As usual, he landed it perfectly and gracefully.
Each move was perfect and graceful as everyone expected. Now, for his last move, he did one of his favorites- a tricky one.
The quadruple flip.
Being himself, he thought he would land it as usual. However, as the time for him to do the flip neared, he felt his stamina degrading.
The crowd was anticipating his next surprise.
Time was ticking and he needed to do it now. Even if the state of his stamina was not that good, he needed it for the points. He needed to surprise them once more.
. . . . . 3
"Looks like he's going in for a double salchow,"
. . . . . 2
"Oh wait, I think he's doing a toe-loop,"
. . . . . 1
"I don't know anymore because of his form! The audience will sure be in for a surprise,"
Oh how right they were. The audience gasp. Everyone to surprised to say or do anything. The sat in shock as the slowly started to comprehend what happened.
Yes, they were surprised. But not because of awe, it was because of disbelief.
Perfection itself has fallen.
No one could forget it.
