The next day, after  you woke up, showered, and put your armor back on, you stepped outside. You heard the normal sound of Tucker, Caboose, and Church fighting over something most likely stupid and birds chirping.

You walked around the base quietly, taking in the scene. That was, until you bumped into something. You looked at the subject, finding white armor and a yellow helmet staring back at you.

"Uh....h-hi. I'm sorry, are you the Freelancer we hired?" You stared, receiving only a nod. He was very...quiet.

"O-okay. Follow me, I'll take you to Church." You said, turning on your heels. You felt him follow you inside the base up to Church and explain that he was your new Freelancer.

"Okay, I think the people who sent you called you...Maine? You okay with us calling you that?" Church asked kindly.

"Meta." A deep, nonchalant voice said, making chills run down your spine. Your cheeks felt warm.

"Okay. Meta. Please fix our tank, if you would." Church said, slightly irritated. Meta shrugged it off and marched over toward Sheila. He dug into the toolbox next to her and begun to start.

Churched glared at him almost all day. You weren't very sure why, though.

The sun began to sit along the horizon, creating an orange glow in the sky. So....beautiful. Your eyes set on the Freelance below. His white armor almost looked orange from the top of the base. You wondered what he looked like under that suit of armor....

"Hey, y/n." A cute voice said behind you.

"O-oh! Caboose! What are you doing here?"

"Um....Church said he wanted to see you in private talk."
