Chapter 85 - Harry

Start from the beginning

I just nodded an agreement to him, not knowing what to do next. I had thousands of questions to ask Scar, but at the moment nothing seemed to come up. I wanted so badly to know what had happened, how things had gone, what she had said, if she'd mentioned me or if she'd just grabbed her stuff and walked away.

I didn't have the time to question any of those.

"You're the prince charming, then?" Zach asked, hands stuffed in his pockets, a smug smirk showing on his lips. I only arched a brow, mirroring his smile, but showing it to Scar instead. She glared at him and blushed a bit more fiercely; cheeks pink-ish not so much due to the cold anymore. "The one who made her leave Tyler; you must be quite something, mate."

Okay. Certainly the nice type. I liked him.

I couldn't help but smile the wider my lips could reach, starting to feel the effects of standing so long out in the cold, but once again ignoring it all, because I was warm inside. Even warmer when someone else voiced just what I hadn't been able to take in yet. It was quite overwhelming knowing I had been enough to make her move on. It was quite overwhelming feeling like, maybe - and most likely -, I was her one.

When I was about to finally say something - again -, Scar growled loudly, sighing heavily.

"Will one of the two gentleman please open the f-cking door, because both my hands are busy and it's freaking freezing; instead of just talking about me as if I wasn't here at all? Thank you very much."

And that was basically the hint we needed to finally move, Zach seeming to realize I was going to open the door, indeed, and starting to walk back to the truck with a final 'goodbye', when Scarlett glared at him and started saying words as if he was the biggest idiot alive. That leaded us to four people around the coffee table with steaming cups of coffee, Scarlett talking about the little conversation she'd had (although I could tell she skipped many details, just spilling out the basics), and Lana trying to calm down from the high she'd been since she thought she was going to see her almost-daughter hurt again.

Turns out Zach was quite a dark figure, but with an immense heart. Even though he was, after all, a friend of Tyler's, he seemed to genuinely care about Scar, and that was a gift not many had.

Just before he went away, he patted my thigh friendly and murmured something like 'make her happy like she deserves to', and Lana smiled at him like he'd just owned all of her respect and approval; Scarlett smiled like he was the embodiment of an angel, and I simply muttered an "I will". Another promise I had made over and over again.

Their smiles still widened as if it'd been the first time I'd ever said it.

"Harry, I can't," she whispered shakily, knuckles tightening around my fingers as we walked up the few steps to the front porch. She was literally sweating, despite the cold of the environment and the own of her hands. And sue me if I thought that was the cutest I'd ever seen her.

"Scarlett, you're gonna be just fine," I assured, peering down to press a kiss to her forehead, brushing a few strands of her fringe away so I could look her properly in the eyes. "Plus, you look adorable. There's no way they ain't gonna like you."

She scoffed, trying to look amused but still shaking like a leaf.

"I am not adorable, Styles. My personality is not adorable. I'm annoying. They're gonna hate me," Scar stated with a sigh, head burying on my sweater and arms wrapping around my middle. We were just in front of my parents' front door, and I was trying to knock on it, but the girl clinging to me wasn't letting me do so. "Can't we please go away? I mean, can't I go away? You should spend your birthday with them and-"
