Harry Potter-Curses

Start from the beginning

Lost in thought, I didn't realize that Madam Pomfrey was heading towards me and I was almost scared out of my wits when I found her at my side holding a tray with at least ten different assortments of potions.

"What are those for?" I asked quietly, examining all the different colored mixtures.

"For you dear, it's for the curse you got hit with, these potions should help." Madame Pomfrey explained matter-of-factly. "You need to drink all of these a day. So come on, drink up."

Gazing at all the unfamiliar liquids, I tenderly took one of them and drank it, then the next one, followed by the next until all of them were consumed, leaving me with a bitter taste in my mouth. Madam Pomfrey however, looked pleased and scurried off to go tend to her other patients.

"I'm glad you're alive." A voice filled with relief uttered from my side. I saw Hermione staring at me with a beaming grin. Turning towards her, I winced and smiled back.

"Thanks. How long was I out, and what happened?" I asked, piqued by current and past events.

"You were out for four days after we came back." My eyes widened and as my lips formed a frown before nodding my head, motioning Hermione to continue. "We met up with everyone afterwards before being ambushed by the remaining Death Eaters. I'm not sure what happened later since I was knocked out, but apparently the Order of the Phoenix came and saved us. The prophecy that you-know-who wanted was thankfully broken during the fight between the Order and Death Eaters. None of us had injured ourselves badly though, you probably had the worst."

"Did anyone die?" I asked carefully, noticing Hermione tense up a bit, which caused worry to form in the pit of my stomach. Someone died, and I was waiting for Hermione to tell me who.

"Sirius died." Hermione murmured, tears filling up her brown colored orbs. My sight suddenly became cloudy and the temperature felt colder than it should be. I didn't even notice I was crying until I felt a tear drop on my hands.

"How's Harry holding up?" I tried to divert the conversation to something different in order to keep my tears at bay. The topic of Harry did just that fortunately.

Hermione sent a knowing smile through tear streaked eyes, to which I just arched an eyebrow at. "He was devastated when Sirius died, but he's holding up well. He wasn't injured other than his scar hurting while you-know-who fought Dumbledore. He'll be happy to know you're alive."

Speak of the devil was my thought when I heard my name being called and saw Harry appear at the door of the hospital wing. He ran towards my bed and hugged me as if I were his lifeline. I froze, sending a questioning look at Hermione to which she just smirked at me and my uncomfortable position. Shooting her a glare, I awkwardly wrapped my arms around Harry and pat his back, clueless of what to do in this situation.

"I'm so bloody happy you're ok." I heard Harry mumble in my ears before he released his hold on me. His smile was very benevolent and infectious that I smiled back.

Hermione soon delved into a conversation with the three of us. While listening, a sharp ache appeared and I gasped slightly and as quietly as I could, my grin faltering before returning in a strained manner.
Harry raised an eyebrow at me and I shook my head, dismissing it no matter how much it'd hurt.

=====

"I'm free!" I yelled, jumping up and down to pump some energy into my stiff legs. I effortlessly smiled as I sprinted through Hogwarts and out onto the field, breathing in the fresh, outside air. I heard laughing behind me and turned to find Harry gazing at me with a carefree grin.

"People might big take your happiness as an insult, considering the Ministry just got attacked by Voldemort." Harry quipped, and like the childish witch I was, I stuck my tongue out at him.

"Shut it Harry." I spoke, trying in vain to muster a scowl, but couldn't. The cool air had rejuvenated me to a point that my exuberance could not be tainted.

"Your expression is telling me otherwise." Harry retorted good-naturedly.

I decided that ignoring him would be the better choice and stared out into the horizon. Footsteps could be heard within the silence and I could feel Harry's presence next to me.

"What are you thinking?" He asked curiously.

"Nothing much." I replied, pausing as if weighing my words before asking, "What about you?"

I turned to face him and found Harry staring at me with a soft look in his emerald orbs. "You."

I barely caught the word, and when I did, my heart swelled. I sent him a smile that matched his soft gaze. "Thanks Harry, but I'm fine now, there's no need to worry about me anymore."

I could see Harry's ears start turning red and he looked reticent to speak what was on his mind. But in the end he chose not to speak at all, leaving me more than puzzled about his hesitance.

=====

"I'll be right out!" I hollered to Hermione and Ginny as I wrestled my case of necessities. "Oomph." I grunted, squinting slightly from the weight of the luggage. "Merlin this is heavier than I thought." I muttered, groaning before bracing myself for the entire weight.

"Need help?" I heard a male voice ask before I felt a bit of relief with the weight now bearable. I faced my aider and spotted his raven hair and green eyes.

"Thanks Harry!" I said, smiling before dragging my trunk out of the compartment. But before I could make it all the way out, Harry blocked the door. I cocked an eyebrow at him and asked for an explanation.

"I was hoping that before you go, we could talk." Harry rubbed the back of his neck nervously before the corners of his lips turned upwards the slightest bit. I motioned for him to continue and he gladly obliged. "After the Department of Mysteries, I was really scared about your sake and how you were doing, so I would always try to visit at least five times to see if your were alright or if you woke up. It became a habit and I didn't realize how unusual it was until Hermione pointed it out one day. I thought about it and," Harry heaved a breath and slowly let it out before continuing, "I think I love you."

My lips curved upwards and I beamed at Harry. "I know." I remarked happily, "And In fact," I let out a coy smile of my own before saying, "I think I might also love you Harry."

I grinned sheepishly and slid through the boy with an incredulous look and out of the compartment, soon to be out of the Express.

"Wait!" Harry yelled, seeming to be out of his stupor, "Hogsmeade next year?"

Turning around, I smiled and responded, "I'll keep that in mind." Before stepping out of the train entirely.
