The suburbs, how I wish I could leave this place. Picture this: a blonde mom in a pink dress, waiving her husband goodbye as he drives to his 9-5 job. Of course, it wouldn't be complete without the white fence and the mowed lawn.
They're actually our neighbors, Danny and Alice. Everyone in our neighborhood envies the two. They always seem to have their sh*t together. Then there's Olivia, their "perfect" daughter. She's hot, for starters, and she definitely has that royalty aura to her. Well, no pun intended but she's basically the queen bee in school.
Speaking of school, it sucks. No, not because of the workload, that's the small bit of it. I think it sucks because of the people in it and I cannot breathe just being around them. I didn't think suffocation by plastic was this bad.
I grip the straps of my bag tightly and try to breathe in as much fresh air as I could before involuntarily breathe in the school's. Believe me, it's like a mixture of sweat, cries, and marijuana.
As expected, there was a long line towards the entrance. I stood there and observed the people around me. Funny how everyone, literally everyone, were on their phones.
As I was about to pull out mine, a heavy bump from behind caused me to inch forward and drop my phone. Before looking back to whoever did this, I picked up my phone and saw the cracks on the screen. Well now I'm mad as f*ck.
"Look what you did you son of a-" As cliche as this might sound, I find myself stuck in mid sentence distracted by the beauty of the b*tch who broke my phone.
Surprisingly, she stared as well, her blue or green eyes melting my chocolate ones. The brief moment felt like a whole thirty second scene in a movie, where two pairs of wondering eyes meet.
That moment ended, however, when her eyes looked over to my phone, then back to my face, then to my phone, then back again to my now awkward face.
"Um, I mean, uh-" I'm a sad little crud.
"Oh sh*t did I do that?" Her voice full of concern and authentic guilt. "I'm so sorry, I was so distracted that I didn't see you there--" then all of what she was saying turned into a muffled echo, and all my senses gone but my sight that observed her every movement.
The way her eyebrows were slightly arched upwards in concern, causing her forehead to crease. And even the way her hands were going in many directions as she speaks.
Holy sh*t, I think I'm love struck or something. Before I could even stop myself, the words "I'm Hayley, what's your name?" Spilled from my mouth.
The cute girl stopped talking for a bit then smiled adorably. She probably saw the blush on my cheek and caught the fact that I was discreetly checking her out.
"I'm Blake. Nice to meet you."
