The Forgotten

Prologue

     I'm dying... Slowly... Painfully... Alone... The still, freezing ground that is softened by little grass, most of it being burned away by the scorching fire that surrounds, is all that can be seen. This is where I lay, the sacrifice, an open wound in my stomach for the beast to smell, as I stare up into the painted blood red night sky filled with mourning stars and the disappointed moon, as I bleed out slowly in front of them. I laugh coldly and weakly. Such a slow death this is... All I hear is the sound of the raging fire, sizzling like burning batter on a griddle and hissing like a cobra and the sound of my blood pounding in my ears, like drums. You would think I would be panicking and screaming for my friends, my family, or anyone at that to come and help but... They don't care... I am the enemy to them. My friends... I thought they love me like family... I thought we were family... I thought I was more to him than a sacrifice to something so it won't kill the mortals, but no. I thought wrong... Terribly wrong... To them I am a Nightmare. A Whisper in the Dark... I just lay here, claiming my last breaths and savoring my last moments, tears streaming down my face. I deserve this anyway... What I have done... The monster inside... I deserve this... So much....
"G-g-goodnight..." I say quietly as I drift off into my last sleep, the world fading around me into everlasting darkness. As I close my eyes, whispers of a far off place sings demonically into my ears an unforgettable message passed down from the beginning of this world.

The world will be saved by the Fallen Angel,

The Dark Angel,

And die in the arms of an Angel,

Unless it's taken to the Demon,

Then the world will erupted with chaos,

Rivers run red,

The sky filled with the smell of blood and flesh,

And the world will die,

Along with the Fallen Angel by the hands of the Demon,

To make everything right,

The Forgotten must find her,

Teach her,

Protect her,

And sacrifice her,

The Fallen Angel.
