Chapter One
"Molly Evans," Professor McGonagall called. I walked up to go get sorted into one of the houses. I looked around. I saw Draco Malfoy staring at me. I blushed, and hoped to be put into Slytherin with Draco. I squeezed my eyes shut and crossed my fingers as the Sorting Hat was places on my head. "Gryffindor!" It shouted. All the people in Gryffindor cheered. I looked back at Draco, and saw he was frowning. I felt disappointed. I stumbled to go with all the other Gryffindors. My friend Daisy smiled and patted me on the back, but all I would do was look at Draco longingly.
Chapter Two
"Molly!" I whirled around. I saw Draco walking up behind me. "I wish you had been put into Slytherin," he muttered sadly. I nodded, and I started to cry. He wiped my tears. "Don't cry Molly!I want you to be happy," he said quickly. I nodded again, but without Draco, whom I had been friends with since we were 8, I felt sad. I knew that was not what he wanted though, so I smiled and hugged him. Then we parted ways to our house tables. Daisy and Emma, my only friends from Gryffindor, skipped over. They were laughing. "Hey, Molly, why were you talking to a Slytherin?" Emma sneered. I looked up from my plate of mashed potatoes. I did not answer.
Chapter Three
I sneaked down the corridor to the Gryffindor common room. I whispered the pass word to the fat lady portrait.
"Auror," I muttered under my breath. I went into the common room, and I pulled out my parchment and quill. I started to write to mother and uncle about the house I was sorted into and not being with Draco. I started to cry. Tears dropped onto my paper and smudged the ink. I put the letter away until I could send it to mother by owl tomorrow. I heard quiet footsteps. At first I thought it was Draco, but it just can not be. I looked around, alert. Out of the shadows stepped a witch I didn't know. "Hello," she whispered. I was puzzled. "Have you seen Harry or Ron?" She asked, slightly worried. "No, why?" She shrugged. "My name is Hermione," she said, smiling. "My name is Molly," I grinned. She told me she had heard me crying. She asked me what was wrong. I told her about Draco, and she became slightly pale. "Oh dear, do you really truly know him?" She asked. I nodded. "I should know, he is my best friend," Hermione said she needed to go, and ran out as fast as she could.
Chapter Four
I went to bed crying. I fell asleep after hours of lying on my side, burrowing my face into my pillow. In the morning, I woke up with my hair stuck to my face by tears. I had a strand in my mouth too. I was half on and half off my bed, my blanket on the ground. I picked up my glasses and shoved them on my face, brushed my hair , and put on my robes. I put my hair into a pony tail. Then I staggered down the corridors to the dining hall, exhausted from lack of sleep. As soon as I walked in, Draco rushed over, grinning. "Hi! I missed you! How di you sleep? Did you make any new friends? What did you do before bed?" He asked. I laughed. "Draco, it was not to bad, but what about you?" "Not very good without you!" He exclaimed."But I made some friends! Crabbe, Goyle, and Pansy! Did you make any friends?" "I met a girl named Hermione," I mumbled. Then he waved and said he would see me in classes. Then we split ways to our house tables. "Wow," I gasped. "So much food!" Daisy came over. "Yeah, so we get fat!" She sneered. She smirked at me. I just looked at the food longingly. My stomach growled, but Daisy and Emma only had an apple, so I decided to skip breakfast. I watched Draco munch french toast and waffles and bacon. I checked my class schedule to find out where to go soon. The paper said my first class was Defense Against the Dark Arts. I grabbed my wand and textbook out of my magic bag and started down the corridor so I didn't get to class late.
Chapter Five
I heard running footsteps behind me. I kept my eyes forward, thinking it was Emma. Emma typically wouldn't come after me unless she was mad at me. "Molly! Molly, wait!"came the call. I turned slowly. Draco rushed over and hugged me. "Did I scare you?"he laughed. "No, of course not!" I demanded, embarrassed. I blushed. He smiled and raised his eyebrows. "What class are you off to right now?" He asked. I showed him my schedule. "Great! Me too! Slytherin has the exact schedule as Gryffindor it seems! I get to see you a lot then!" He jumped and hugged me tight. I collapsed in his arms and felt dizzy. My vision blurred. I groaned. "Molly? Molly? Molly, are you okay?" "I should have had breakfast... I don't feel so well...." I moaned. Draco looked very worried. He pulled me up and held me in a standing position and fumbled a waffle out of his pocket. "Eat this! I was going to save it for later, but I think you need it more," I ate it slowly. I felt better. "Thank you so much! You're the best," I grinned. I hugged him, and then I pulled away, blushing, as students started to walk through the corridor.
