Prologue

Megan was sitting by the window of her penthouse's room in the evening hours. snowfall was covering the green trees and the roads outside and the clouds were drizzling, sun was peeking from the clouds. She was 23 years old, a slim girl with short hair up to shoulders of golden ash-green colour having 5.5 feet height with Fair complexion having a sharp nose, pink normal thickness lips, and dark brown with long lashes. She belonged to a reputed family, as her father was also a known Businessman of central London. He was handling the business of trades and ships. She was of 17 years when they immigrated to the UK. Her father Mr Calos Methew got married to a rich and marvellous lady Ayana Petris she was the only daughter of one of the big business tycoons, brought up in London.

Megan's POV
Raindrops were slipping down the window screen as quietly as were the feelings were silent inside the ocean of my heart. I was lost in profound thoughts while looking outside through the glass window that I started recollecting the old memories.
A few months ago...I still remember the day when I had a call from my parents that they have betrothed me with Abraham Franklin (Abbey) was the tall, stable young man of 29 years with grey-coloured eyes, a round face,  jet black hair. He was the leading businessman and CEO of his "Franklin's Resorts and Casinos ". He had spread his business in Paris also, therefore he liked to be there most of the months. He belonged to Franklin's family, a royal territory and only the son whose reign going to be. This marriage seems like a business deal. I didn't know how to react rather I tried to perceive the situation, not knowing what to do. Although we were friends since childhood, I used to be excited to go there on vacations. He was good at playing the piano; it's still remembered to me.
I and Abraham got engaged! There was something, weird, strange and silent that I always noticed in his eyes. I didn't know what was that? We met many times but just as friends apart from being fiancés. Whenever anyone or even one of us talked about love a strange silence indwelled in between us. I can understand I was desperate I'd loved once I could read my heart only but not of Abraham's. What was buried inside? Why have these eyes turned brim many times? Was there any other girl in his life before? Many questions poked inside my mind of mine. I tried to inquire many times from him regarding his past but he always procrastinated. I couldn't know what the reason behind his sarcasm was but there was something painful that made him dismal and I was nearly certain about it.
After the ceremony was finished, when I returned to my room my Mom asked me as she perceived something, I was too much disheartened from deep inside, reflecting from my eyes:

"Are you happy from this engagement?"

This question! Ugh!
Pierced my heart grudged it deeply, but I could only bleed silently without any wince. I turned my face to another side to deter her from asking and not to face her. My eyes were brimmed, everything got bleary around me as the tears overflooded my eyes because I was not allowed to let my tears fall. I ought to as every human have my spirit and rights but not for mine...but I was not supposed to.

I just closed my eyes and gulped my past, after she left my room. We always use to say time is the best healer. Is this true? Although it may be some memories can't vanish away from our heart, however, our mind tends to have a heart that can keep their memories as long as it wishes. The mind fights a lot against the innocent heart that only knows how to love or hate thoroughly. But in the fight of mind and heart, sometimes the mind wins and the heart has to lose and let bygone be bygone. Therein neither any fault of mind nor of the loving heart, all about the circumstances and the time which the mind deal with smartly but in all these management the heart has to lose and get many grudges deep inside, still then hides and weeps silently in loneliness as it knows no one would understand its hurt as all people have minds who lead them to the way which should be the most beneficial for them and they have to accept the decision whether they love it or not.
