//Hey everybody! This is the prologue to my new book Infinity's Limit! Sorry if the first few chapters don't have enough in them or they aren't so good. I'm trying my best. I promise though that it will get better once I get it better. Enjoy my first chapter!\\

The group of people trudged through the dark cave. The only light was a single torch that the leader of the group held that barely illuminated the pathway. They all donned black robes that flowed down to their feet.

Soon enough, they reached a large room carved out of the stone. There stood a stone statue of a beautiful woman. Her hair, which flowed down to her waist, was bound in a braid. She held a sword out in front of her and wore armor. The only thing that wasn't stony gray were her eyes. Gold. Her eyes were made of bright gold that could burn right through you.

In front of the statue was an altar with a polished stone bowl next to it. Next to the bowl was a long, curved dagger with a red jewel in the hilt.

"Bring him forward," the leader of the group commanded. Two of the men forced a tall man to the front. He wore nothing but a pair of breaches and bore the army of the king's brand on his right bicep. The symbol was a simple shape of a fire.

The leader of the group picked up the dagger as the two men brought the king's soldier to his knees.

Holding the dagger, the man turned to the soldier and, without wasting a single moment, slashed the weapon sideways, quickly slicing the soldier's throat. He quickly placed the dagger down and picked up the bowl. Placing the object right below the wound, he caught all of the flowing blood he could until the bowl was almost overflowing.

Letting the now dead soldier slump to the ground, the man placed the bowl in front of the altar. He pulled out a small book and opened to a marked page and began to chant in a language every priest in the land knew as the Ancient Demon Language. As soon as he stopped his loud chanting, he waved the torch and the whole room went pitch black. The only sound that filled the air was the occasional shuffling of the men's feet. Nobody knew how much time had passed, but it felt like a century.

Then two small golden orbs appeared. A small gasp came from one of the men.

"Crimson. Copper," whispered a soft, female voice as a small cold breeze rustled the robes of the group. Everyone held their breaths and froze. "Who goes there?" the voice asked, a little louder.

"G-Gingham, high priest of the Wendervell army. W-We've come with a task that we know only you can complete," the leader of the group stammered.

"Wendervell army?"

"We are an immense group that are rebelling against the King's army. He has turned our land into hell so we've come for your help."

The torch relit out of nowhere, revealing a young woman sitting on the arm of the statue. She was completely identical to the stone figure except she wore a simple black tunic and pants. A silver sword was in its sheath on her hip. The gold in the statue's eyes were faded slightly but the girl's were burning gold, gazing at each of the priests.

Gasps filled the air and a few men even stepped back. The high priest, however, stayed planted.

"What is this task?" the girl asked.

"In 600 years from now, a boy by the name of Caldriel Hilechard will be born. When he reached the age of 16, please go and find him and tell him the following information," Gingham turned to another priest who walked up next to him with a paper in his hand.

"C-Caldriel Hilechard has been chosen by our army's psychic to be taught the way of the blade and open one of the Grendom Eggs to fight and defeat King Izveln," the priest recited shakily.

"And I cannot defeat this King Izveln because?" she asked with narrowed eyes. "The King has extremely powerful wards protecting him from demons and angels of any kind," Gingham answered.

"Ah, I see. I accept your request." the golden-eyed girl stated with crossed arms.

"Thank you, Sakkon."
