"Sweetie the plane leaves in a hour Layla Michelle we have to go" I hear my mom telling me to get up all the way from downstairs.
"Mom I'm coming just a second" I said while smiling.
I packed my bag getting all my clothes I want for Mississippi. My phone started ringing I looked for it wondering who would call me. I found my phone and it said "Ex of Hell 🙄".
"What Cameron I'm about to leave for college any last words for me?" I said sarcastically.
" Nah I just wanted to say good luck and be safe I love you kiddo you always were the determined one." He said chuckling trying to be serious.
"Thanks I gotta go bye" I said.
I headed downstairs to all my family and friends saying "SURPRISE CONGRATULATIONS JACKSON STATE COMMITTER!!!" I laughed and smiled about to burst into tears. My mom walked up to me hugging me.
"I thought we had a plane to catch mom you tricked me!" I said smiling.
"It comes at four I just wanted to find a way to get you out your room and I did" she said handing me a plate of food.
All my family was here and gave me gifts and extra items I needed for college. It was all so great and I had confidence college was going to be for me.
3 hours later...
Me and my mom waited till the plane to Mississippi. I'm ready to take on my success. My mom knows I got this and won't let anything get in my way by any chance.
"Plane 67 Plane 67 to Mississippi is now boarding please retrieve now " said the lady on the intercom.
Me and Mom walked down the aisle giving the lady our tickets and walking to board the ✈️ . I smiled so happy knowing this is it I will be on my own finally.
As the plane took off I noticed that I was leaving St.Louis for good. No turn around just focusing on me,myself & I. This is what I been waiting for all my life and it's here.
