(AN: I wrote this the day that Shawzy got traded, but it all still applies.)
So the Blackhawks traded my favorite player for the second year in a row. Last season, it was Sharp and I knew that he would probably be traded, even though I didn't want him to be traded. This trade hurts a lot and I feel like such a nerd for crying over this, but it really sucks so much. There are so many players on the team that haven't contributed nearly as much as Shaw has that are still on the team. Why couldn't we trade people who didn't do as much?
Shawzy is a player that will play his hardest every game, no matter what. He does the dirty plays that no one else wants to do, and I consider him to be the heart of the team. He's funny and goofy, but he still plays the game like it's the Stanley Cup finals every night. No matter what the score was or who we were playing, he'd be out there playing his hardest, never giving up.
I'm going to get a little sentimental here, but Shaw taught me that even when no one wants to believe in you, and even when people don't think you'll go very far, you can do amazing things. Just because you aren't the first pick, doesn't mean you're not just as great if not better than the other people out there. He also proved that just because you make a mistake, owning up to it and apologizing doesn't make you less of a person, it makes you a better person.
This season is going to be so hard, and it'll be hard to watch Shaw playing in a different jersey this year. I don't know what it's like to not have Shaw on the team, I don't know what it's like to see Shaw as anything other than a Blackhawk. I hope he does great things in Montreal and I hope Canada treats him well.
We'll miss Shawzy way too much, and I'll be hoping we can pull a Ladd and bring him back home soon. <3

Hockey Talk: Talking Hockey
NonfiksiThis book is going to be where I make posts about hockey. It's not really a story, just a place to put my thoughts about hockey.
