(So basically this part will be the back story of what happened. I promise the next chapter will have actual plot in it. So yeah, I've wasted enough time.)
Sirens wailed as the man ran down the sterile white hall, his equally white lab coat fluttering behind him. The flashing red lights nearly blinding him, but it didn't matter. He had to warn them. But he didn't have enough time.
He finally reached his destination. He frantically typed in the special code for unlocking the door, and leapt inside when it opened. Many other scientists like him were gathered around computer screens, pacing around the room, or yelling into their cell phones. A few looked up at him as he entered, but looked back down, their work too important to ignore for a temporary distraction. He was looking for one person in particular. After locating him, he approached, disregarding the people he was already conversing with.
"Sir!" The harried man called, pushing his way forward. The other man turned around, a frown etched onto his face.
"What is it, Jameson?" He asked. "Better be good, we don't have any fucking time to waste." He said, his brows furrowed. The smaller man, Jameson, swallowed, and prepared himself.
"The virus is no longer contained. Patient 0-110 and Patient 0-486 have escaped the confines. The virus has already infected two of our staff. " Jameson rushed out, hoping his boss wouldn't lash out at him. His boss inhaled a sharp breath, and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Is that why you sounded the alarm?" He asked, in a dangerous voice. Jameson nodded.
Screams suddenly erupted from the hall outside, as the panicked chatter inside the room ceased. Everyone's attention was glued to the door, waiting for something to happen. After a few moments, everything was quiet. Then, when nothing seemed out of place, another bloodcurdling screech was heard, followed by an animalistic growl. It was a man, trying to crawl away, but having difficulty due to his missing arm, and ripped open stomach. His entrails dragging behind him, as something pulled him back. He emitted one last scream, before a roar cut him off, followed by crunch.
Everyone was frozen with fear, as the disgusting sound continued. When it stopped, another soon followed it. It was like an animal dragging an injured limb behind it, with occasional gurgling. Then, it poked it's head around the doorframe.
The creature looked human, but it's gray, crepey skin, hollowed out eyes, and missing lower jaw told otherwise. The creature hissed, then rushed forward, soon painting the world red.
(So, end of the prologue! Hope you guys liked it! I will be posting the next chapter here soon, so stay tuned. Like, comment, and follow so that I can write more stories! See ya!)
