Hello.
I remember darkness, a searing white light. I can call upon that memory like it was yesterday, but I wish never to again. The light pained me so, but it was so beautiful too. I, the moth drawnt to the candle-light, then burned up. It felt like that.
Then, the light receded, except now I was not left in darkness. A brilliant fiery star was glowing in the darkness. At that time, I did not quite understand the concept of "stars". So as I studied the large expanse of space before me, it looked to me as a thousand little rips in the sky, a thousand tears on a black cloth.
A thousand little stars.
And there were galaxies, constellations. There were wonders and miracles. You humans cannot begin to understand how truly amazing they are. Then there were the planets. I did not know what to make of them. I do not remember. But I will tell you, that day was amazing. It was the day I first understood " time". I cannot make you feel it like I did. Imagine everything of your deepest desires given to you. But you have no memory of them, or why you wanted them. Earth was a mystery. Its seas and oceans. Water. Trees. Sky. I did not understand these things.
...
"Who are you?" Asks She, wonder-filled.
Who am I?
...
I am Echo.
