Your name was Alexis Monroe and from what everyone else saw, you were a completely normal teenage girl; but that's just the thing, you weren't normal in any way. You had a genetic mutation that made you run abnormally fast, faster than light actually and you could control fire and ice with just your mind. Honestly you were sure at the moment that you were the only one like this and it bothered you quite a bit, you didn't want to be alone. It was a normal Monday night; you were lying on your bed staring at the ceiling when your stomach started to protest in hunger, rolling your eyes you got up and in a blink of an eye you had arrived in the kitchen to grab a snack. Grabbing a package of popcorn in one hand you held it up as you used your other hand to spark a small flame popping your popcorn in record time. You were about to speed back upstairs when you noticed something from the corner of your eye, it was your mother. She stood there with that deer-in-the-headlights look in her eyes and you knew that she saw what you did. You slowly approach her and she stepped away; she was afraid of you, tears welled behind your eyelids "stay away from me you freak!" she screamed at you, you were overcome with so many emotions and for a brief moment you couldn't control your powers and before you knew it you had set the entire house aflame. You didn't mean to! No, that was your family! You killed them!!! You couldn't take the pain and you ran, to where, you had no idea but you didn't stop until you finally collapsed in an old parking lot somewhere. Your eyes started to close when you heard voices nearing you, one sounded British and the other sounded like a boy your age but before you could see who the voices belonged to everything went black and you drifted into unconsciousness.
You woke up frantic; tears streaming down your face, your (h/l) (h/c) hair tangled and all over the place and dark circles formed under your (e/c) eyes making you look even paler than usual. You looked around you and didn't recognize the room so you decided to explore; you started to walk towards the door on the far side of the room when you swear you heard a mans voice, but you were alone...it was inside your head. 'Hello my name is Charles Xavier and I've brought you here to my home which is also a school for gifted youth such as yourself, when you're ready please come to my office and I can properly introduce myself.' the voice was of a young man maybe in his mid twenties or early thirties. It was soothing but at the same time quiet strange, how the hell did he do that? You walked out of the room and somehow managed to find his office.
There he was sitting behind a large oak desk, his back was tuned to you so you had time to look around, or so you thought 'hello Miss Monroe it's nice to see you're awake and doing well, I hope your room is to your liking' the man known as Charles said as he turned around; what you hadn't noticed before was that he was in a very advanced looking wheelchair. He approached you and for before you could speak you felt a gust of wind and out of nowhere there was a young man about your age standing next to you. 'Omg you're finally awake! Jeez you've been asleep forever! I'm Quicksilver but you can call me Peter. You're pretty. What's your abilities???? Can you show me???' the boy spoke so fast but you could understand everything he was saying like he was speaking normally 'Hi I'm Alexis' he smiled from ear to ear and before he could ask about your abilities again you left in a flash suddenly appearing outside Peter soon following behind 'OMG you...you're like me...I thought I was the only one' you said under your breath. He placed his hands on your shoulders and looked you dead in the eyes 'you'll never be alone, you'll have me. Just two freaks against the world.' You smiled for what seemed like the first time in forever and you wrapped your arms around him pulling him into a tight hug 'Thank you Peter'.
