Atticus POV

My eyes fluttered open, blinded by a bright light causing me to wince and let out a small whimper. My body felt numb as I laid there, allowing my eyes to adjust to the lighting. I looked around the unfamiliar room, fear seeping into my veins as I saw a man and a woman curled together as they slept on a brown couch placed in front of the hard bed I laid on. I gulped, slowly pushing the thin blankets off of my legs.

These people were gonna hurt me, just like everyone else has. I couldn't understand why the Moon Goddess wouldn't grant me my wish of death, I didn't understand why she kept placing me in the hands of people who wanted to hurt me.

Slowly I slipped out of bed, standing on weak shaky legs. I cautiously took a step away from the bed only to collapse, wires ripping out of my arms making me yelp in pain. I heard the couple on the couch stir, panic starting to wrap around my spine as I started to pull myself under the bed.

"Eric?" the woman asked groggily. "Eric. Eric! Eric get up!" she cried.

"What? What is it?" the man grumbled, his voice husky.

"He's gone!" she shrieked.

"Jackie, sweetheart calm down. He couldn't have gotten far. He's too weak." Eric said.

I watched as they stood, hurriedly walking out of the room, allowing me to release the sob I'd been holding in. Tears slipped down my cheeks as I allowed my forehead to rest on the cold tile floor beneath me. I stretched my arm out in front of me, ready to pull myself from out beneath the bed. I watched as my arm suddenly bent at an awkward angle, a crack echoing through the silent room. Pain shot up my arm forcing a cry of agony to slip past my dry chapped lips.

I could feel my bones cracking, blood curling screams of pain leaving my lips. Fur beginning to sprout from the hair follicles on my arms and legs, the space under the bed seeming to grow smaller. I watched as my hands began to morph into something that wasn't human, confusion and fear taking over my senses.

"Eric! He's under the bed!" Jackie called, "Sweetie, it's okay. Calm down, its going to be alright. We're gonna help you okay?" she cooed softly, my green eyes meeting her brown ones.

She reached her hand out, urging me to take it. I shook my head crying out in pain as my spine snapped and then shifted beneath my flesh.

"Jackie! Get away from him! He's shifting!" Eric boomed.

"Shut up Eric! Help him! This bed is going to crush him if he shifts! His wolf isn't going to be strong enough to get it off of himself once he shifts!" Jackie ordered, worry clear in her voice.

"K-Kill. Please." I begged between breaths as I panted, the bed starting to suffocate me.

"Shh, don't talk like that were gonna help you. " she said softly as the weight was lifted off of my back, her voice a gentle whisper.

"P-Please," I whispered gruffly. "Ki-Kill." I whimpered.

"Jackie step back." Eric said softly pulling the woman to his chest.

"Eric we have to help him." she whispered softly, her brown orbs filled with sadness.

"He has to make it through the shift first, sweetheart. If he makes it through his shift we can help him to the best of our abilities." Eric cooed.

There voices began to fade, my eyes beginning to droop as another wave of numbness swept over me.

*******

I groaned as I pried my heavy eyelids open, every bone in my body throbbing in pain. Whimpers fell freely from my lips as I looked up towards the ceiling. A woman, Jackie, leaned over my bed, her face coming into my line of vision.
