Hey guys! I'm just recently back on Wattpad and really wanting to get back into it!
I'm really excited about this book!! Any recommendations are encouraged!
I stared at the Anderson's house in disbelief. It was huge. I had never had a foster family this.... well off. I had lived in trailer parks and apartments my entire life. David, my new foster father, pulled into the three-stall garage.
"Let's get you settled Athena. I think you'll really like it here with Mary and I." He got out of the car and grabbed out my suitcase. I followed him up the front steps, into the large entryway. A long spiral staircase was to my left and right, this house is something straight out of a fairytale. "Your bedroom is up the stairs to the left, go ahead and take your time."
"Okay." I said with a small smile.
"Oh, Athena, we will be having guests over tonight."
I nodded and drug my suitcase up the stairs. I followed his directions and couldn't believe my eyes. It was more of a loft than a bedroom. I walked through the doors and immediately my jaw dropped. There was a huge mahogany dresser, with a mirror on the top, a walk-in closet and a kitchen area to my right. When I looked to my left there was a window seat and a door that led to a huge bathroom with a claw-foot tub and a shower. I started to unpack my suitcase, when I heard the door open.
"Uhm, hey, David sent me to tell you that dinner will be ready in a few..." I looked up to meet the gaze of dark forest green eyes. "I'm Kyle... Your brother... I mean foster brother?"
I cracked a smile. "Thank you Kyle. I'm Athena, your new foster sister."
He let out a deep breath. "Let me help you unpack or something. David and Mary are driving me crazy."
I looked at him confused. "Are they not you're biological parents?"
He smiled. "No, I've been here about six months give or take. It's pretty cool, they're really nice too. Best foster family I have ever had."
I shrugged. "That's good to know. I think I'm okay with unpacking though, unless you know where the rest of my old stuff is...?"
He nodded and left the room to return with one small box. "I think this is all of it. You don't have much do ya?"
I shrugged again. "It's all I need. Now this place, this is way more than I need."
"Yeah that's what I said too. They have like four or five rooms like this. They plan on making one into a theatre and one into a game room or something like that." He said. "They're very successful people."
"I've noticed. Uhm.... If you don't mind I'm going to change and I'll meet you guys downstairs in a few."
He jumped up and walked out of the room, closing the door behind him. I let out a sigh. I finished unpacking my clothes and my small box. I finally wandered over to the closet and pulled on some ripped jeans, a blue tank top, my black leather jacket and combat boots. I glanced in the mirror and decided to brush my hair before I went downstairs.
When I found David, Kyle and Mary they were standing around talking to a group of teenage boys no older than me. "Hey! There she is!" David said. "Athena meet Kyle, Mason, Jax, Stewie, Chris, Cameron, Zach, Alexander and Dylan."
"Hey." They all said.
I smiled back and waited for someone to say something.
"Let's go eat!" Mason said with a toothy grin. "I'm starving."
We all walked out onto the back patio and sat down. I sat off to the side, pulling out my phone. I had several texts from my old foster brother Jason and a few missed calls from Kaylie, my old best friend.
Hey!This place is great. I'm not too sure how I feel about it yet, but I'll let yaknow. I'll call ya !
Mary handed me a plate full of food and I noticed a strange vibe, not coming from her but where the boys were sitting. I glanced over to see Chris, or was it Jax? Staring at me. I looked away and tried to shake the feeling. I looked up at the sky and felt its power inside me.
Oh, little fact about me, I can bend the elements. Haha... didn't know I was the only one who could do that until I tried to show my mother... and she kicked me out... at five. I still don't understand how it fully works or why. It is pretty cool though, when I want it to rain, I get rain, when I want snow, I get snow...I typically don't mess with the weather though. I usually just play around with water or earth. Earth is typically my favorite, but I have been focusing on water recently. It's fascinating.
