"Come on!" I heard my mother urge me to stand up. "Flame, she hadn't even opened her eyes yet," I pricked up my ears to listen to the other queen, she by far, was nicer than MY mother. I felt a brush of fur cross my mouth. Gray. My sister was already annoying. She had already opened her eyes and had already walked out of the nursery. I felt her prod my side. "Cocoa, get up!" I forced my eyes open and saw for the first time. The den was HUGE. It felt airy, like when Flame would go away. My mother's fur was ginger. It had darker orange stripes coursing through her glamorous pelt. Gray had a white pelt, but her ears were dark gray. Her piercing amber gaze burned holes into my head. She spoke: "you've finally opened your eyes-"
"Invasion!" Gray was cut off by a shriek from some other cat. My mother suddenly had fear scent. A golden cat barged in, claws unsheathed. My mother hissed loudly and the cat jumped on my mother. I closed my eyes hoping I was dreaming but it didn't. My mother yowled in fury as the other cat pinned her against the ground. I opened my eyes again and saw that the other intruder was a tom, he was matted with my mother's blood as she fought ferociously. The tom raised his paw, and slashed it across Flame's belly. She yowled louder than I could have ever heard but was cut off by the tom slicing her throat open. Blood bubbled at her neck and her eyes were stretched wide with horror. The other she-cat was also dead, her stomach was also slit open and her body was in a puddle of blood.
The other murderer stalked towards the golden cat, and they shot their eyes towards us. My sister squeaked. I cowered in fear, but then the golden cat kept forwards. Goodbye short life.
