Before when the 7th Hokage retired, there was an incident that could have destroyed Konoha if Naruto, the 7th Hokage, hadn't stepped in. 1 through 8 tailed beasts attacked Konoha. If it wasn't for advanced Sealing Jutsu, the 7th Hokage would have died.
The only candidate was an orphan who's parents were killed when the Beasts attacked, Rai Masuhiro. Naruto wasn't thinking when he was sealed all 8 tailed beasts inside of him and transfered some of the Nine Tailed chakra as well.
