Stefan Imagine #1

Imagine - You've known and liked Stefan since before he became a vampire & knew Katherine. You have been living in your hometown of Mystic Falls for the past three years and see Stefan for the first time after a hundred years apart.

You were currently sitting in The Grill eating some pizza with Caroline, your best friend. Caroline, along with the rest of the world, besides your vampire & witch friends did not know you were a vampire and you would like to keep it that way. You thought that it was weird being back home in Mystic Falls due to the fact that you haven't been home since you became a vampire. You had decided to come back home after a hundred and some years after being away. This town just held too much memories of what used to be and was no longer there. Suddenly your friend Caroline interrupted your thoughts.

"...So, what do you think about him?"

"Who?", I said with a confused tone and expression.

Caroline responded with, "I was wondering what you thought about the new guy Stefan. You zoned out for a minute, didn't you (Y/N)?"

It felt as if my heart stopped even though mine didn't beat. The man who I had loved in my human years before I had turned had the same name, but he died. So, it could not be possible.

I said, "Um, yeah I guess. Do you happen to know what Stefan's last name is?"

I tried to play it off coolly even though I was having a mini panic attack on the inside.

Caroline answered my question saying, "His last name is Salvatore, a descendant of one of the founding families, I believe. I saw him today at school and he is super attractive, trust me. Honestly, he's a breath of fresh air in this town of boring, ordinary guys. But, I heard that him & Elena really hit it off. Why does Elena get all the hot guys??"

After I heard his last name I could not focus on anything else. I didn't want to get my hopes up, but I had a tiny bit of hope. My brain finally processed the rest of what Caroline had said. If this was true, and Stefan really was alive maybe I could finally have him.

Caroline starts frantically packing up all of her belongings, "Oh, crap it's already six, I'm going to be late to the football game. Are you coming (Y/N)?"

I laughed at her actions replying with, "Not right now Caroline, I would like to finish my pizza first."

Heading slowly towards the exit she said, "Alright (Y/N), you better hurry otherwise you won't be allowed to cheer this game. See you later."

With my mouth full I said, "See ya soon Caroline."

"Close your mouth when you're talking, it's nasty" Caroline yelled walking out the door, briefly disgusted with your actions.

I quickly finished my pizza and paid the bill. Exiting the building I said bye to the waitress who had served Caroline & I. I quickly walked to my car & started it. My mind went back to what Caroline said earlier about Stefan. Could he actually be alive? Before I could think anymore about it I pulled into the school parking lot. I quickly grabbed my cheer bag and ran toward the locker room, so I could change into my cheer uniform.

As soon as I entered the locker room Caroline commented on my tardiness " (Y/N), could you have possibly been any later? Then again, you're usually late to almost everything."

I ignored Caroline's comment and got ready quickly. I barely finished tying my shoe when Caroline announced that we had to leave the locker room now. I finished tying my shoe quickly and ran to catch up to Caroline.

Walking up to Caroline I said, "So, is Stefan Salvatore going to be here tonight?"

On the inside I hoped that he wasn't going to be there because then I would have to face him after all these years. But, on the other hand I wished he would be there, so I could finally see him.

Caroline responded with, " Didn't you hear he made the football team? Honestly, (Y/N) I don't know why you don't know all the latest gossip. Especially with me as your friend, I tell you everything."

I was too busy listening I did not see that the football team was exiting their locker room at the same time and ran into a hard surface. Before I could fall onto the ground a pair of familiar arms caught me and when I looked up I saw familiar green eyes staring down at me. When my brain finally caught up with what was going on currently, my breath hitched. I could not believe that Stefan was still alive and by the look on Stefan's face, I could tell that he felt the same way.

After what felt like a long time Stefan, unfortunately let me out of his arms and said " Well hello, I believe that we haven't met yet. I'm Stefan Salvatore, and you would be?"

I blushed and replied with, " I'm (Y/N) (L/N). So, whe-"

Before I could finish Caroline called me back over to her saying that it was almost time for the game to start, so I quickly said goodbye to Stefan and ran to Caroline.

As soon as I caught up with her she said, " Your so lucky, you just met the guy and he already has touched you."

Little did she know that you've known him since you were ten. I did not respond to her comment and decided to just continue walking to the football field. After we got to the field, the game went by quickly and the next thing I know I'm leaving the locker room getting ready to heading home.

As I was walking towards my car I heard the sound of two shoes hitting the pavement at a quick pace, heading in my direction with my vampire hearing. I quickly turned around to see who it was and when I looked around my breath stopped again. It was Stefan and he was the one running towards me.

Stefan stopped running when he got to me and said, " (Y/N), is that really you?"

I looked at him with happy tears in my eyes and responded with, "Yes Stefan, it's me (Y/N) (L/N)."

The next thing I know Stefan is hugging me and I hug him back with just as much force he was hugging me with. We decided to meet up the next day and talk about what we had missed while we were apart.
