Shallow puffs of air
Breathed onto frozen fingers,
Trembling limbs
And a sense of cold that lingers.
A heart that once was so warm
Lies forgotten- left to splinter
Encased in a blanket of ice
Trapped in this eternal winter.
Frail arms wrap around knees
Like chains
A feeling of numbness
Absorbes any heat that remains.
An unspoken promise
That no one ever planned
Love- it has vanished
And in its wake left a frozen winterland.

PoetryI have come to realise that I seem to write better late at night. So this is just a random collection of poems that I have come up with on those late nights that I couldn't fall asleep. Enjoy. -Sammie Xoxo
