Long ago, in the Fallen Kingdom, man, dwarf and elf kind fought each other, over the silliest of reasons: who was the strongest race? After centuries of fighting, despair, loss and sacrifice, still nobody had won the war. And each of the races too weak to go on. They agreed upon a temporary truce, until their kingdoms could rebuild themselves from the ashes of war. But the dragons had other plans.
The other races weakened, they swooped in, destroying everything and everyone in their path. They blazed a trail of death and destruction upon the land, killing or enslaving the rest of the races.
And so it stayed, for a millennia, until one day, a kind dragon with a good heart started an uprising against the tyranny and corruption of the dragons. The kingdom of the dragonfolk was overthrown, and dwarf, elf and man alike agreeing that the strongest race was the wisest.
And so, they divided the land into three kingdoms, and banished the dragons to the Shadowlands. The kind dragon who had helped them begged and pleaded for his family to be pardoned, but the foolish mortal races turned a blind eye to his kindness.
The dragon, outraged, vowed that he would be back to exact his revenge, and the mortal races took heed of his word. But after a few centuries, they had all but forgotten about it. And so the mortals resumed life, not realizing that eventually, their day of reckoning would come. And sooner than they thought.
But the dragons stewed in their hatred, growing ever stronger as the years rolled by. And they slowly clawed away at the barrier sealing them into the barren wasteland if the Shadowlands, and the mortals took no notice, until it was too late.
And so, the dragons escaped their prison and exacted revenge upon the mortals. But this time, they were prepared. They united, dwarf, man and elf alike, and took up arms against the dragons.
But they were fighting a losing battle. The dragons slowly advanced, whittling away at the mortals. It seemed doomed. But a hero would rise, and against all odds, defeat the dragons once and for all.....
