Author's Note: Hi! Long time no writing! Well I guess you know I've seen Dr. Strange. Yes and it was a BADASS movie and I kinda got the urge to write a fanfic about it so enjoy! :)
{NOTE: Mara is O/C}

- Mara's POV -
I sat on the floor meditating. Every inch of my body was relaxed while I felt everything happening around me. The quiet ring of the chimes, the wind breathing through the window slits, the slight temperature changes, all of it. I was honing my senses when-
"Mara," someone calling my name broke my concentration and I scowled.
Baron walked in and bowed.
"Pardon my interruption but you are to go out and train with Ancient One. She expects you for tea and a lesson in two minutes." He bowed again and left.
I stood up and left my room blowing out the candle as I made my way to the conference area.

Looking around the room I've grown to know so well, I walked up to the Ancient One right on time. I bowed as I stood in front of her, showing my respect. She smiled at me but it quickly faded away. She gestured for me to sit and handed me a tea once I was settled.
"As you know, soon things will change drastically," she began and I nodded. Remembering her telling me a long time ago that a man would come and greatly impact our dimension. I knew very little of this prophecy other then the severity of his arrival. Intrigued, I listened carefully.
"Mara," She paused, "you have progressed and excelled in your studies and training. You have proven enough strength and discipline to become a Master." At her words my heart skipped a beat and I smiled.
"It would be an honor." I said and the Ancient One proceeded to talk.
"Then, Master Mara, I would like you to go talk to Wong and begin to study the time spell that you will practice in the mirror dimension. You must understand that you are required to be excessively careful. You will practice first on something simple," she finished saying, her voice soft but warning. She pulled out an apple and handed it to me.
"Take all the time you need, and remember, complete concentration. I will join you later to check up on your progress. Wong knows you have my permission to borrow my books." I nodded and placed my now empty cup of tea on the small wooden table beside The Ancient One and I. Out of respect, and habit, I bowed before making my way down to the library. My heart racing with excitement.

- Dr. Stephen Strange's POV -
I took so much pride in my work. Not only did it mean the whole world to me, it was my whole world. Saving lives was what I did and I did a damn good job.
But now, I'm lost. I no longer have strength or control over my hands, Christine has walked out of my life, and I realized physical therapy does nothing worth while. So now here I am lost emotionally and lost physically in my search for Kathmandu.
My whole body was drained of energy and my life was hanging on by nothing. This was my last chance to bring meaning back into it. I walked the crowded streets. The physical therapist had told me of a man that suffered a spinal cord injury and then years later passed him on the street, walking.
I said it was bullshit and asked to see his record. The therapist wasn't lying. I tracked the man down and now I'm here.
"Do you know where Kathmandu is?" I asked a man on the street for I was lost. He pointed in a general direction and that was the way I headed. The sun beat down on me hard and I was very weak.
I turned down an alley way and there three men stood.
"Give us all your money!" One yelled at me and I was in no position to argue at this point. I raised my hands high above my head.
"I don't have any money. I spent my last dollar to come here." I said, my voice cracking slightly.
"Then give us your watch!" Another yelled at me and my eyes widened.
"No this is all I have left." I told them all but they didn't care. But I did, it was all I had left of Christine. Instead they came closer towards me.
"Well-" I said before I used all the strength I could conger up to punch the first man in the face. It hurt more then I could have imagine. I doubled over in pain and held my hand close to my body. That was when they took advantage to me and Braganza punching me.
When I was pinned down, that was when they stole the watch. I turned over and went to go after him but there was no way I could in time to retrieve the watch.
Suddenly a person appeared. It was a blur at first. The person was clocked in a dark blue, the color matching the night sky almost to a tee. Whoever it was attacked the men with such swiftness and force I was shocked.
"Let's go!" I heard one yell and the other followed. Quickly scrambling out of the alley. I stood up and glanced over at the person and he removed his hood.
It turns out he was a she. Her hair was slightly blonder then Christine's and her eyes were a brilliant blue. Little white scars covered her hands and probably other parts of her that I couldn't see do the confinement of her robes.
"Here," she said and held her hand out. In it was my watch. Shattered. I took it and held it close. Even though it was shattered it still meant so much to me that this stranger has risked her life, well maybe not exactly because she took those men out with ease.
"You are looking for Kathmandu, correct?" She asked me, her blue eyes searching mine.
"Yes," I answered and she nodded.
"Come with me," and from there we left. We walked for a while longer and I was beginning to wonder how much longer it would take us to get there. We turned down an alley that was adorned with mismatched doors on one side and people practicing spiritual and voodo crap on the other. Walking down there gave
"Now," she began turning around to face me swiftly before as we stood in front of a brown wooden door.
"Before you go in to see The Ancient One, there is one thing you must keep in mind." She told me, her voice wise.
"And that is?" I asked, curiously.
"Forget everything you think you know." And then she pushed the door open and we walked inside.
